"Jess and Josiah came out to lift some sunken concrete and fill some voids that developed under my garage and slab. They did an awesome job! Everything looks great and I feel much better about how stable everything is."

"Wow! Driveway repair and extension started yesterday and finished today. Misael and his crew were hardworking and very professional! I would love to upload pictures but this site is telling me my pictures are too large. You can find them on Facebook at RMZ Concrete LLC. I highly recommend him for concrete work!"

"The experience went very well. Very professional. Punctual and kind. I believe his name was Alberto, my appointment was at 9 they called at 830 and asked if he could come about 845. Showed up was kind and courteous. He did a basketball ball court for my boys. Told me to stay clear for a couple days and he came out and took the ropes off and it was all good to go. So thank you I am a very pleased person. If anyone needs concrete work done I would say to hire AH concrete. Very reasonable pricing as well."

"Exelente!!! Dough is an excellent guy to work with. The workmanship and detail he put on rebuilding and remodeling my home was A+!!! He recently pour a concrete driveway at my daughter’s house as well as a gravel driveway to my second daughter and they are very happy with the results. If you are not happy with the results he will do his best to remedy anything and make people happy. Doug always told me “ I will do whatever it needs to be done to make you happy”. Doug is also very fair an honest. I highly recommend him as the owner of NC Elite Co. for your future projects. AND, Yes I will rehire him again?"

"Excellent work. Amazing results. We discussed our needs and the design was so much more than we expected! Our project was delayed due to weather, but were kept informed almost daily. The crew was here when scheduled and we were kept informed of the process. Very hard-working crew and we are so pleased with with our new, huge and great designed driveway! "Mr. Shoulder was very polite and knowledgeable and knows his concrete. He and his crew were on time, and were a pleasure to have working around our family, our home, and our pets. I would recommend this company/crew without hesitation. Very satisfied with the quality of work, and with our finished products (144x3.5 sidewalk and 16x16 garage pad). Nice job with colored concrete - exact color match, good broom finish."

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

Polyjacking can be a permanent solution to sunken concrete if you also address the underlying issue—like poor drainage—at the same time. The polyurethane material itself can last as long as or even outlast the concrete you’re lifting it with. Your sunken concrete issue will likely return if you don’t couple polyjacking with proper drainage to prevent future soil movement and sinking.

Polyjacking and mudjacking can both be effective solutions for sinking concrete, but they have key differences. Polyjacking, which uses expanding polyurethane foam, is often considered a better option because the foam is significantly lighter than the cementitious material used for mudjacking. This reduced weight puts less pressure on the underlying soil and lowers the risk of future sinking. Polyjacking is suitable for any sinking concrete slab, while mudjacking is typically only recommended for non-structural concrete, such as sidewalks, patios, pool decks, and driveways. The primary drawback of polyjacking is its cost, which can be up to four times higher than mudjacking—as much as $25 per square foot compared to a maximum of about $6 per square foot for mudjacking.

Most houses are expected to settle over time, but foundation sinking of more than a few inches or uneven sinking of more than an inch for every 20 feet is cause for concern. Any significant or uneven sinking should be assessed by a professional to determine the cause and perform any necessary repairs.

Mudjacking typically takes 24 to 72 hours (one to three days) to dry and cure completely before you can resume normal use. The exact time can vary depending on the size of the project. Because the slurry mixture contains cement, it must fully harden to ensure that added weight from walking, furniture, or vehicles won't shift the concrete slab. A professional contractor can advise you on when the surface is safe to use. For comparison, if you use polyjacking instead, the polyurethane foam can dry in just a few minutes, but it's best to wait about an hour before use.

Trenching and boring are two distinct methods for installing underground utilities. Trenching involves digging a channel using equipment like an excavator, trencher, backhoe, or shovel. While it is a simpler process, it causes significant disruption to the surface, landscaping, and surrounding ecosystems.

Boring, also known as directional boring, is a less invasive alternative that uses a drill to create a tunnel for utility lines without disturbing the surface. This method is more precise and is ideal for installations that need to go underneath buildings, roads, or bodies of water. Although boring is less disruptive, it is generally more expensive than trenching.
