"We had a wonderful experience with R&R from start to finish. When Ricky came by for an in person estimate, it was clear that he knew what he was talking about and has been doing this for a long time. Very professional, kind and trustworthy. Super competitive pricing as well. This was our first fence project and Ricky was so responsive to all my questions (and I had alot lol) It was so comforting to have that communication throughout. Rickys sons came out to do the work and they were fantastic too! They managed to schedule work around the rainy days which was a blessing and they were polite, hard working and had a great eye for detail. They left the backyard in pristine condition after they finished up. We now have a quality built fence and couldn't be happier. Would absolutely go to R&R for all future fencing projects and would recommend to anyone we know."

"Jose and his crew did an awesome job. The repaired fence section that was replaced looks better than the rest of the fence. Definitely would hire this crew again. Will hire them for my other outdoor projects. Gracia- thank you."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Whether you need a permit to build or install a fence depends on several factors, including your location, the fence's height, its placement in your yard, and the materials used. In many cities and highly populated areas, a permit is required, especially for fences taller than 6 feet. Conversely, rural areas may have fewer restrictions. Typically, backyard privacy fences 6 feet or shorter do not require a permit, while front yard fences often have a lower height limit, sometimes as low as 3.5 feet. There can also be exceptions for properties in mixed residential-commercial zones. It's best to check with your local building inspection or zoning department to understand the specific requirements, height restrictions, and location rules for your area. A professional fence installer can help you navigate this process and often secure the necessary permits for you, though this may extend the project timeline.

By securing posts deeply and ensuring proper drainage around foundations.

There are several options for post materials. Depending on where you live, the weather, and what kind of durability you want, you can choose from wood, steel or concrete posts for a barbed wire fence. Your corner and end posts should be especially strong in order to maintain the structural integrity of the fence.

If you’re trying to keep your dog from running away, an electric fence isn’t the only fence type for your yard worth considering. The cost of dog fences can range from $1,500 to $8,000, with popular materials including wood, vinyl, or aluminum to keep your pet safe and sound.

If you’re trying to keep livestock in their pasture, other fencing options include woven wire, high-tensile wire, and synthetic fencing. These options give your animals boundaries without the use of electricity.

Concrete is one of the easiest, most cost-efficient, and most effective ways to stabilize a fence post. To stabilize a fence post with concrete, you’ll dig a hole around the post in question and fill it up with concrete—easy as that. Concrete lasts about 50 years on average, so it’s a long-term solution.
