"We were very pleased with the excellent and professional job re-staining our log home. Dario and his crew were diligent, reliable, punctual and very easy to work with. They were extremely hard working and finished our house before a visit by our relatives. We love the way our log home looks now !! We would highly recommend them to friends and neighbors and definitely use them again."

"My name is Darren Gaines and i got to say hands down Rueda Construction is the best i didn't know who to call but i wanted one person who could do all the work not multiple people and Rueda Construction meet all my needs. A tree hit the corner of my house when Helen hit so miguel the owner came out looked at the damaged and him and his team or i can say his family because its a family business. They really know what they doing they came on time and worked hard my house look like it wasn't even damaged after they finished. Im having him come back to build a roof on the top of deck and other things because they do some many things. I dont know about you guys but if you can find somebody you trust and can do all the work you need stick with them thats why im sticking with Miguel and RUEDA CONSTRUCTION you want be sorry."

"Trevor and his team did a brilliant job with the renovations of the house that was not in good shape prior. He was communicative and available to chat at all times to provide updates. The attention to detail on all tasks is what impressed the most. He was flexing with his pricing and got the job done before estimated completion date. I would definitely use his services again."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Wood stain does go bad, but it will last in the can for between three and six years, provided you use proper storage techniques. Storing wood stain in open containers or in extremely low or high temperatures will cause your wood stain to become unusable much more quickly. Water- and latex-based wood stains typically last for just two to four years, while oil-based wood stains can last for three to six years.

Ensure gutters and downspouts remain clean, monitor wall integrity, and promptly address any arising imperfections or peels concept permanence rooted.

You can apply stain over peeling stain, but it’s not a good idea. Your old stain will get in the way of your new stain bonding to the wood, so you’re likely going to see the same issue again shortly after application. Your best option is to sand off the old stain and clean the surface thoroughly before applying new stain.

It is definitely worth sanding a deck to ensure the wood absorbs new stain. Sanding a deck removes the outer layers of aging wood, allowing the stain to penetrate. It also gives a fresh look to the entire surface as part of the deck refinishing process. Without sanding, your stain or sealant is less likely to absorb into the wood. While sanding a deck is a time-intensive project, the rewards are noticeable and long-lasting.

Stains penetrate wood best when it's cool and dry, so you want to avoid moisture. If the wood is wet upon application, or if it rains before the stain dries, the water will soak into the wood and displace the staining solution. This leads to a flaky and blotchy look, which is the opposite of a sumptuous even coat. Once the stain has fully cured, after about 3 days, rain shouldn’t cause you any problems.
