"Daniel and his team are professional and prompt. They did a great job and cleaned up and left everything better than they found it. They stained my deck and replaced one of the warped boards with a new board. They did a great job! Would definitely hire them again without hesitation!!"

Customers say: True professional

"Jordan did an excellent job in the prep work on the trim. Pressure washing, scraping, and caulking. This is key to a good, lasting paint job. He used quality material to make a lasting paint job. He was also very neat throughout the whole job keeping the area clean as if he had not even been there. I would highly recommend him for any type of painting."

"Andrew, Jedy and the team were very professional. They came back and inspected and made sure everything was done to our satisfaction.... Even pointing out some things that we would have never spotted. They wanted everything to be perfect They did a fantastic job painting our entire condo and helping us with painting molding after the floors were installed. Our condo is old and like others that are dated, there were several challenges to overcome and they did a great job of magically making our condo look brand new."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Satin paint is generally considered a better choice for woodwork—including trim, baseboards, cabinets, and doors—than flatter finishes like eggshell or matte. Its soft sheen enhances architectural details and stands up well to frequent cleaning and daily wear. Compared to eggshell and matte finishes, satin is more durable for high-touch areas because it is less porous and doesn't absorb dirt as easily. Matte finishes, in particular, are prone to scuffs and are harder to clean, making them less practical for surfaces like doors and cabinets.

In most cases, sanding an old deck before staining it is necessary to achieve a decent finish. If your old deck has a relatively new stain finish on it and you're only doing touch-ups, you can generally skip the sanding part. However, if your goal is to make the deck look and function better, sanding first is a must.

If you don’t treat a cedar fence, it will turn from reddish brown to gray over time. You can keep the cedar from graying and retain its attractive, deep red color by sealing your cedar fence with a stain that keeps the wood’s oils in and serves as a barrier against the sun’s UV rays.

Wood stain is not flammable after it dries. The solvent in wood stain is what causes the liquid form to be highly flammable, but the stain drying process involves the solvents dissolving, which leaves behind a non-flammable product on your wood project. Wood stain is, however, flammable before you apply it, so you should always store partially full cans and used wood stain rags away from sources of heat and open flames.

Ultimately, overapplication of stain can compromise the deck's appearance, durability, and longevity. It may result in an uneven finish, with excess stain pooling, dripping, or drying into thick patches. It can also obscure the wood's natural grain and texture, detracting from the desired aesthetic. Moreover, excessive staining may not fully penetrate the wood, leading to poor adhesion and premature wear. Additionally, thick layers of stain are prone to peeling, cracking, and blistering as they struggle to bond with the surface.
