"This company is top notch!!! Our entire backyard fence (360 feet of fence) was destroyed in the hurricane. They were amazing to deal with from the very first phone call. Very responsive in providing their estimate and the wait to have installation performed was not long considering all the work backed up from storm damage. The work crew was very polite and hard working and the quality of the installed fence was excellent. Price was also better than other quotes."

"These guys are fantastic, and I highly recommend them for any fence project you may be contemplating. I had them build two wood fences and three gates and could not be more pleased with the results. One fence is an 8â high shadow box, built to hide the view of a dilapidated fence on my neighborâ s property; the results were just what we wanted, and the new fence looks great! They built another 6â wood fence with a gate to match an older one we tore down on another part of our property. The gate is new and gives us ready access from the back to the side of our property. Lastly, they replaced a large, difficult to manage wood swing gate in our driveway with one that opens in the center and is simple and easy to open and close. It looks great and functions oh so much better than the old one. They also added too additional pedestrian gates for us on other parts of the property. All of this work was completed in just two days by a crew that consisted of the owner, Ricky, and two stellar workers. They were all polite, professional and a pleasure to have around. They thoroughly cleaned up after they completed the project, and the charge, which was surprisingly reasonable, did not exceed the estimate."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Fences made out of redwood, cedar, or pressure-treated pine are the most durable. These materials can last anywhere between 15 to 40 years so long as they are properly maintained. Make sure to clean your fence regularly and pressure wash once a year. After pressure washing, apply a sealant and/or fresh paint to keep it looking fresh.

Common problems include cracks, warping, and loose panels. Regular cleaning prevents discoloration and wear.

If you’re trying to keep your dog from running away, an electric fence isn’t the only fence type for your yard worth considering. The cost of dog fences can range from $1,500 to $8,000, with popular materials including wood, vinyl, or aluminum to keep your pet safe and sound.

If you’re trying to keep livestock in their pasture, other fencing options include woven wire, high-tensile wire, and synthetic fencing. These options give your animals boundaries without the use of electricity.

A fence post set in concrete lasts anywhere from five to over 25 years, depending on how well the concrete was applied and the fence post’s material. Untreated wood posts in concrete could last less than 10 years, but a durable, treated wood set in properly applied concrete could last a few decades. However, all fence posts will wear out eventually, so expect to need to replace your fence post every five to 15 years.

Determining the best type of fence to contain your pet can be tricky. Consult a pet fence installer and consider the following questions:

  • What size pet do you have? Some fence types, like chain link, are too short to contain large dogs.

  • Is digging an issue? Some fences, like brick or stone, help minimize digging at the fence line, where wood fences aren’t as adequate.

  • Do you need to block your pet’s view of the neighbor's yard? Some fences, like metal iron fencing and chain link, don’t offer an obstructed view.
