"

The entire experience overall was excellent. Courteous, professional, and thorough work was performed. Jim worked a good four hours on our carpets, explained everything and made our carpets look like new. The carpets looked so nice and so perfect we hated to even have to walk on them when all was done. Carolina Restoration & Carpet Cleaning are the ones to call when you want the job done right ! They are a pleasure to work with.

"He was on time every time we called them, they  remodeled kitchen, bathroom, and did some minor general, took out some walls, they are absolutely amazing. They led us through the whole process, and always had an answer for us when we asked questions."

"This project involved the demolition, redesign and rebuilding of our basement. This included a multipurpose room and bathroom. Thomas was the low bidder for the project by several thousand dollars. The project began as scheduled but demo and framing took longer than scheduled. Our completion date was moved back several time throughout the project, though that wasn't a big deal. There were times during the project when Thomas was difficult to get in touch with and he was routinely an hour or more late for his scheduled appointments. I need to add that Thomas is a contractor not a handyman and relies on sub contractors and individuals for all the work. Overall they did a good job, some were messy and didn't attempt to clean up their mess. At times I was asked to come up with a solution to a design problem when I expected his team of professionals to offer suggestions for me to choose from. In total fairness I feel my experience was good but not excellent. Thomas is a nice guy and flexible during all phases of the project. His sub contractors where honest and hard working, we got along well with all of them. If I had to do it all over again I'd probably study up and try to be my own contractor, assuming I had the time."

"They have been wonderful and David has been great.  He was very, very reasonable.  Mine is an ongoing project, it is as I can afford, so he still has a lot of work left to do for me.  He re-routed the gutters because it was leaking in the basement.  There were no downspouts from the house and he figured out how to do that without having to do all the guttering so he saved me money there.  He is such a nice person to work with.  He is a very knowledgeable person and if he does not know something, he will find out.  He actually figured out the gutter problem and it actually worked; it has worked for the last three rains.  He tries to save money.  To re-route the guttering system and to clean the huge amount of moss that probably has been growing on the roof for thirty years, it took a good one day.  He pressure washed all my stairs and my deck that were green and they look like they are pretty much brand new.  He did a great job with it.  For all of that he charged me $575 and the savings was huge because I had one other guy come out who told me that they would have to put in a whole new gutter system and that would be $400.  So for a $175 more I got that taken care of, my roof cleaned and my deck and stairs pressure washed, so that was a huge saving, that was great.  His schedules and mine were a bit funky but David stayed on top of the schedule and completed all that within a week."

Carpet Stretching questions, answered by experts

While some carpet repair kits exist and only cost around $15, they are not usually appropriate for Berber repair. Typically, they include small pieces of fibers to use as patches, and Berber carpets are typically colored very differently from other kinds of carpets. This is why it is imperative to try and locate a spare piece of carpet from your original installation when you need to patch up an area.

In addition, the tools these kits include are often watered-down versions of the ones you can buy individually from your local hardware store (e.g., the glue in the kit will not be as strong as your hot glue gun or the double-sided carpet tape).

While it may not always be ideal, you can fix a squeaky floorboard without removing the carpet. Pros use specialized carpet screws and drive them through the carpet into the subfloor, securing floorboards. They may also use nails instead of screws if they suspect the pile will get caught in the screw. While some types of carpet will hide the screws and nails, a low-pile carpet may not.

The correct method to fix bubbling carpet depends on the cause. If the bubbles are caused by moisture, drying out the carpet can help flatten it. Otherwise, a pro might need to restretch or reinstall the carpet to fix the issue.

Your room doesn’t need to be completely empty to restretch a carpet, but you’ll need enough space that you can move around furniture to access the wrinkled areas and the wall where you’re reattaching the carpet. A contractor will move your furniture out of the way before they start the job, but you can save money by moving your furniture before they arrive.

Yes, carpeted stairs are generally considered safer than stairs with hard surfaces like wood, vinyl, or tile. Carpet provides more traction, which helps reduce the chances of slips and falls, and its cushioning can lessen the severity of an injury if a fall does occur. Hard surfaces often lack the friction needed for a secure tread and can be quite slippery.

However, it's worth noting that some carpets can also be slick, particularly if they are brand new, dirty, or made from certain materials. If any stair surface feels too slippery, traction treads can be added to most materials to increase grip and improve safety.
