"Tarheel encapsulated our crawlspace. They cleaned out the bulk of the debris and sprayed fungicide. They also managed to knock over a post jack. The second day they put a sump pump and replaced the old insulation They installed reinforced plastic sheeting, including over the base of the fallen post jack. The insulation began falling within a few hours of the crew leaving. They did send a second crew to fix this. Our older furnace depends on the under-house vents to breathe. These were all sealed up. The furnace pulled combustion air out of the house until I cut the vents open. In digging the sump well (at one of the highest points of the crawlspace) they cracked the sewer line, which let gravel fall in. Whenever the drains back up enough, the sump pump sends raw sewage out to the front yard. I am currently waiting for an estimate from the plumber to replace the broken sewer pipe and move the sump pump. I have called to discuss this and hope to eventually get a return call."

"Most companies that I contacted either did not know how to do concrete driveway repairs or didn’t want to bother with them. East Coast Concrete knew exactly what to do to repair my driveway and did an excellent job. I plan on hiring them for additional work."

"I cancelled a job I put a deposit of $10,826.95 down for because the sale of my home fell through. I cancelled on June 13th and I still haven't received my refund as of 8/19. We have reached out on 3 separate occasions. My wife and I have been told different stories by different people as to what happened, but not much of it is adding up. After holding our deposit for over two months the manager said-- "We cannot do anything more to compensate you." Apparently, it is being overnighted this evening. Sadly, my advice is to proceed with caution. I give 2-stars because they apparently still have the money to refund me, it could have been worse I suppose."

"I had a flood for the first time in the crawlspace and basement. I called Regional Foundation & Crawlspace Repair to come out. They wanted 27K for crawlspace encapsulation, that was too much and I could do most the work myself. I instead paid them $5,000.00 to bury a geodrain and install a triple safe sump pump system. This is the job they did, they installed the sump pumps at the 3rd to lowest point in the crawlspace and this geodrain goes back and forth from uphill to downhill. The lowest point still allows water to flood downstairs. They also cracked a chunk of my foundation at the point of sump pumps egress. Outside they just threw rocks on ground were the water comes out and can get back into the ground to reenter the crawlspace. They got 1 star because the people were nice, their job was not. Update as of 4/23/2024 they contacted me and said they wanted to make sure everything was good. A Girl and guy came out and noticed a couple things I didn't and said they would fix it that their company does not do work like that. They dug up all the previous geodrain and moved it to walls, tried to level out the drain and changed the location of the pumps and the drain outside. She had a really good work ethic and never took a break. The guy was on the other side of house and think he did good too. Everything they did looked professional and looks like they fixed everything. They had to come back today to finish the work today, but had three of them. It all looks good and they tested everything. They apologized about the old work and were not sure went wrong, but I don't have a negative view of the company now and am satisfied with the work they did. Just nocking one star for the under trained individuals that came the first time, the second crew was great!"

"Foundation Repair. We have had opportunity to use PowerLift twice in the past. Once in 2005 and once in 2009. The situation was that the clay soil in the Charlotte area expands and contracts with temperature and moisture. What had happened in 2005 was that cracks had appeared in the north side of the brick on our home. I contacted Jim McCown who came out and did a thorough inspection of the foundation. He found that piers were needed around the north west corner of our house. We had the repairs completed and were pleased with the result. They even repaired the cracks themselves so the brick was sound. Fast forward to 2009. We found that we were having problems with some of the interior and exterior doors operating correctly. I again called PowerLift, ready to accuse them of warranty issues with their work. As it turned out, the repairs done previously were fine, but the west side of our house, under the deck, needed remediation. PowerLift came out, dismantled the portion of the deck that was in the way, and stabilized the foundation in that area. Again, the cracks were repaired and the house stabilized. Fast forward to 2023. We're preparing to sell our home, so had Jim come out and verify that the piers were still doing their job. He verified that we were still in good shape. Are there other companies who do foundation repair? I suppose so, but we were so pleased with working with PowerLift in general and Jim McCown in particular that we could see no benefit in going anywhere else. I strongly recommend PowerLift if you need foundation repair work."

"Roldo is very professional and competent. He is an expert with home improvement and remodeling. He did several jobs for us including ceramic tile of 4 bathrooms, finished our 3 car garage, installed shelves and a door, painted and completed epoxy flooring. "Our crawlspace was encapsulated in June and almost immediately had issues with leaking. They had to come back twice to fix the leaks in the hatch and fix the substandard job that was done in terminating the condensate pump drain. In addition, we have had more leaks in the past several months that were addressed by them resealing. The most recent time they came out to fix a leak, the service technician did not actually fix anything, but rather told us we needed a sump pump and left it at that. About three months in, a horrid smell developed in the house from the crawlspace. At first, the team lead came in and said it was the worst crawlspace he'd ever smelled and suggested it was due to rats. That same day we had Terminex come out, and they ended up getting on the phone with the service manager to tell her there was no possible way it was rats. Her solution? Try a dehumidifier. Unsurprisingly, in the winter, when stack effect is most prominent, it did not address the issue (the provided dehumidifier with charcoal filter does not run when humidity levels are low)./'][ From doing my own research, it seems that this is soil gasses which can be fixed with a mitigation system/ventilation system and a sump pump. We would be happy to work with the service manager to move forward with some of the options, but she has proven to be unwilling to work with us because "we have already given them a free dehumidifier," as relayed by the service technician when he was on site. Other issues have included: rim joists unsealed and uninsulated, mold being "treated" but left hanging on the joists and not cleaned off, and electrical and plumbing points left unsealed which contributed to the smell during the cold weather due to stack effect. Over the last few months when contacting the service manager, she has grown increasingly shorter in her temperament with us or ignores communication altogether. This company does not care that we are still experiencing problems with the encapsulation system. At this point, we are completely at a loss for how to continue as this has dragged on for months. Based on responses we have received from them and the length of time it takes for them to come onsite we have lost confidence in their ability to resolve our issues. To anyone considering using them for an encapsulation, we would recommend using a different company."
