Post-contract signing, repairman came out about a week later, leveled the driveway and repaired the joints between the sections. "We purchased a second home in North Carolina a few years ago. Unfortunately, what we could afford required quite a bit of work. Given that the second home was 6 hours from our primary residence, we knew we needed a contractor that we could trust to perform the numerous improvements this house desperately needed. Not being familiar with any contractors in North Carolina, I started my search with Angie's list. What immediately drew me to American Home Improvement was the fact that the owner, Mike Radan, not only had an A-list rating and many rave reviews, but that he had been in business for 30 years. Before we even purchased the house we wanted estimates for what we likely needed to spend in the immediate future. Our timing was bad in that the area had recently experienced a hurricane. When I called Mike he said he would be happy to provide me estimes but asked if it was ok if he got back to me in a few days because he was busy making post-hurricane repairs for his existing customer base. I respected that he was honest in setting my expectations but also that he was taking care of his loyal customers first. I am now proud to be on that list and Mike has recently helped me with two priority "damsel in distress" moments that as luck would have it, no one else was around to assist. Premiere customer service aside, Mike's craftsmanship and attention to detail are superior. Although we were not onsite to supervise during many of the improvements, Mike sent pictures and emailed or texted updates daily, it really felt as if we were there. Just the other day, when Mike was helping me with an emergency, I apologized as he was leaving for having to call him out after he had already been working that day. He responded with "absolutely no problem, you're family now", and that's exactly how it feels. If Mike is not too busy with the additional influx of work resulting from this glowing review, I have a long list of additional improvements I would like to have done this Summer! I would recommend Mike to anyone.

"I had a number of various home repairs, some of which were rather difficult--malfunctioning kitchen drawer slides, garage door/tracks that were not originally installed correctly several years ago, and a broken iron gate hinge that someone else had attempted to fix previously without success.  These and other repairs were completed efficiently and effectively with expert results.  I am very pleased with their work and my garage door opens/closes better than ever!  James and his assistant were very courteous and I will definitely call them again when in need of home repair or improvement.

"Hal was very responsive throughout the building planning, estimation and construction process. Hal communicated with us very well, in writing and during discussions. He was able to take our concepts and improve on them, making them better integrated to the existing house and more robust in the harsh OBX environment. He provided creative ideas for improving the end result including making up for some limitations in the orginal home construction. Permitting, construction and resulting certificate of occupancy processes all went very smoothly. We love the end products... a new rear deck with pergola and steps, a re-decked deck with new railings, a new fence surrounding the existing pool and integrated to the existing house, and a bathroom tub and surround rip-out and replacement, as well as other odd and ends."

We called them and asked them to build a custom deck.  He came out and started our deck immediately and added benches and different levels.  He took our design and added to it and made our dream deck better that we could have imagined.

The price was better than we thought it would be.

It was a great experience and we highly recommend them if your looking for a great design and great prices.

"In September of this year my wife and I bought a home near Cedar Mountain. We had
a few things that we wanted to get done to the house before we moved in. From
Florida we researched contractors as well as through friends in our new
community. I was not prepared for the casual attitude of many of the workmen I
spoke with. Out of all of them, there was only one who showed up and did the
work as promised, Mr. Wade Morris. Despite having to drive and extraordinarily
long way to our home, Wade arrived every morning at 8:30 until the job was
done. I had to return to Florida but I left Wade a key to finish up. When I got
back to NC I was pleased to find the house clean and the work done to a high
standard of professionalism. Little extras, like painting the bedroom
baseboards (which was not part of our agreement) made me appreciate Wade and
Gaye all the more.
