"Ricardo and the crew at R&R did a great job replacing the gutters on my house! Upon removing the old gutters they discovered rotten fascia. They quoted me a fair price for replacing it with new composite fascia and added a drip edge so it won't happen again. They focused on the details and took their time to install everything the right way. Highly recommended!"

"Cristian, was very professional and friendly. He understood exactly what needed to be done. He provided me with before and after pictures of my gutters and downspouts which were cleaned beautifully! He also took pictures and showed me potential problem areas with the roof flashing and nails that may become leaks. I highly recommend Quality First Builder's and will use them again."

"I knew I wanted to replace my gutters with a permanent gutter system with little or no maintenance. I did due diligence on gutter systems and I received estimates from four businesses. Gutter Shutter of the Triangle checked all my boxes. The quality, available colors, competitive price, product knowledge of owner, warranty, and ability to finance made my decision easy. I have gotten so many complements on my gutters from many neighbors and friends. Thanks Matt for your recommendation of black gutters. My house looks brand new."

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

Yes, it is okay to knock down icicles yourself. Just make sure to take the proper safety precautions. If you’re not comfortable doing it yourself, contact a roofing professional.

Gutters should not drip at the seams. This problem could indicate that water is collecting in the gutters instead of moving to the downspouts. You could have leaves or other debris blocking the flow of water at the seams. Try cleaning the gutters, adjusting the slope, and sealing any holes or cracks in the material to fix this problem.

Yes. Excessive pitch in gutters can cause water to flow too rapidly, leading to a decrease in the gutter's water-holding capacity; consequently, during heavy rainstorms, water may awkwardly splash outside the gutters. Ideally, you should aim for a quarter-inch of gutter slope for every 10 feet of gutter run. However, it's important to note that this guideline may vary depending on your home's structure and the type of gutters being installed.

Costs depend on gutter length, damage severity, and labor rates.

In most cases, it makes more sense to repair leaking or damaged gutters than it will to replace them. You’ll spend an average of $400 to repair your gutters, while full replacement will cost around $2,000 or more, depending on the gutter material and style and the size of your home. If your gutters are nearing the end of their lifespan—usually around 20 years for aluminum or vinyl gutters or up to 50 years for copper or steel—then it might make sense to replace them, as it could cost you less in the long run.
