Small jobs welcome

"We hired Draft King Insulation to install spray foam insulation in our attic after meeting with Ben at our home, receiving their estimate, and checking their reviews. We are so happy with their work. They were able to do the entire job in one day, they were very professional, and they were patient with all our questions. We highly recommend Draft King Insulation."

"Price was about average, can't complain - don't remember exactly how much or exact service date (disclaimer).  Company screwed up the scheduling.  Installer was busy with personal life and we had to work around their schedule.  Inconvenient.  Came out and sprayed insulation in the garage.  They left the door open to the basement so the entire chemical smell inundated the basement.  The spray was general even but there seemed to be small holes and spaces generally through out the insulation.  When I inquired about the small spaces the response was they generally use the small spray cans you can get at Home Depot\Lowes but that they didn't have any.  I said I would take care of it myself, I had enough inconvenience with the screw up in scheduling.  Other than that went well - it's not that involved, just spray foam.
They did clean up the mess relatively well, but not perfect."

Emergency services offered

"I did not use their services, because they were more expensive than the one I chose, by about 20 percent. My gut instinct (which I ignored) was to go with this company. However, my wallet won over and I chose the other guy. Josh was very knowledgeable and professional. It is obvious that he takes his trade seriously. Out of all of the companies I spoke with he seemed to have a better grip on the situation. Unfortunately, I hired a pest control company to do the job. The crawl space is wetter than before. It is a disaster. In the future I will only hire pest guys to squash bugs. My HVAC tech said the mud is impassable and this is 2 months after getting it waterproofed. I will be calling Josh back to redo the job the other guy messed up. Lesson learned."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

Some painters will repair minor drywall damage. For repair work of any kind, it’s a good idea to hire the professional required for the job. Many painters will have the materials on hand and can add them to the total cost. While you may save some money, there is a chance the work will be subpar compared to a professional who specializes in drywall.

Wet-sanding and dry-sanding each have pros and cons. Dry-sanding is less messy, so it’s a good option if you’re trying to minimize dust (for example, if you’re sanding an occupied home or working with particularly dry or dusty drywall mud). However, dry-sanding is quicker because you don’t have to keep rinsing a sponge or wait for it to dry before painting.

Most handy homeowners can tackle removing texture from unpainted walls. Removing texture from painted walls is a bit trickier. Paint acts as a sealant, so you can’t soften the texture with water. Instead, you’ll have to add a layer of drywall compound known as a skim coat. This process is messy and takes some practice.

New plaster must be fully dry and cured before painting. The drying time for plaster ranges from 1 to 4 hours, but the curing process can take more than five days, depending on various factors, including humidity levels, temperature, the amount of plaster used, and airflow in the area. You should always apply primer before painting plaster.

Yes, it matters which side of drywall you use. One side is smooth, and the other is rough. The smooth side should be facing outward, toward the room, while the rough side should be hidden and facing the studs and framing of the house. The smooth side will be easier to apply tape, joint compound, and, later, paint to.
