Actual events tracked exactly with what the letter said we could expect. Before the crew's arrival we removed all window treatments, brackets and hangers, pictures from near the windows, and moved near-by furniture. After the fact, we realized that if the brackets were screwed into the wood moulding around the window opening (23 or our 26 windows), did not have to remove the brackets. Dang! Only had to remove them if screwed to the actual window frame. We should have clarified this point with the guy who came to survey the job site and measure each window. Crew arrived within the stated time-frame. It was hot, but by the end of the first day the two men had removed 25 storm windows, 25 wood double-hung windows, and installed 25 Champion windows. They were careful to place the old windows where there would be no damage to the lawn. On the second day they arrived earlier, and removed/installed the half-round window on the top floor (a long way up!), foamed all the voids, screwed the window frames, caulked the frames, and verified the operation of all windows. The one basement window was not precisely to the likiing of the guy with 25 years experience (I operated it, but could finding nothing wrong, and who would notice, anyway), he stated he never signed off until it was perfect, removed the window, adjusted the wood frame in some miniscule way, and then re-installed everything so it would be "just right." He was very meticulous, and I was dutifully impressed. They were more interested in a quality install, than in meeting a time-line. The crew worked 12 hours on the second day. We noticed a huge improvement immediately. The glass has a very small amount of silver in it, which (1) prevents UV rays from entering and fading fabrics and (2) reduces heat transmission. We could touch glass with the sun coming through, but felt no heat. Very light tint to the glass (from the silver), which reduces glare and seems to enhance colors, sort of like blue-blocker sunglasses. Don't even notice it after the first day, and it is attractive. Crew encouraged me to watch over their shoulders as they worked, and were more than happy to explain what they did and why they did it. Both seemed to take great pride in what they did and how. I spent the first day (my wife the second day) checking them constantly, and they seemed to mind not at all. They were self-sufficient, though we provided cold drinks. Overall: (1) Windows are stunning when viewed from the street; (2) expensive compared to other brands, but the value was definitely there, our $$ well-spent, get what you pay for; (3) the install was professional and efficient; (4) the experience had minimum pain, as I re-install the brackets! WORD OF CAUTION: There are many "Champion" knock-offs on the internet. Make sure you get the correct one! I spent 5 years babying, cajoling, threatening, massaging and otherwise caring for my lawn. I had the best lawn in the neighborhood, but that wasn't saying much. It was awful. In desperation I seeked out a lawn care service. I got quotes. Several companies came out and surveyed my lawn and made recommendations. I cruised around and and checked out the lawns they gave me as references, and frankly was not impressed by any of them. Tailor Made did not come out.. They surveyed my property from Google Earth and gave me an immediate quote over the phone. That impressed me. An immediate answer - wow! They were also the least expensive. At first I was not impressed. Now, after a full year of service, I clearly have a velvety, weed free lawn that stayed green over the winter. I will be expanding their service this year. I am a happy customer."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/nc/conover/tailor-made-lawns-inc-reviews-6010467.htm"},"position":10}]}

We have worked with Doug on various projects since 2005. In 2016 we purchased a newly constructed home on a small rectangle of land where the builder did minimal landscaping in the front yard and left us gravel, weeds and trash in the backyard--embarrassing eyesore. I met with Doug and...

FAQs for land surveying projects in Green Level, NC
Land surveying can help give clear guidance on your property boundaries for numerous situations. And in some cases, having your land surveyed is a requirement. Some common reasons to have your land surveyed include:
Planning for construction projects, like building a fence
Locating utilities, such as plumbing fixtures
Settling property line disputes
Creating subdivisions
Meeting mortgage requirements
Selling your property
Land surveying costs about $530 for the average homeowner. However, your total cost could range anywhere from $200 to $1,000 or more. Factors like the size of your property play a significant role in what you pay, but other things like the survey type and the time of year can also impact the final cost.
For example, if you’re looking for a simple boundary survey, you can expect to pay between $100 and $600. However, if you want a more in-depth survey that depicts the elevations of your hills and trees, you can expect to pay between $500 and $1,200 for a topographic survey.
A few different types of land surveys can help determine certain features and boundaries of your property. These include:
Boundary surveys describe the actual borders of a property. These are generally required when trying to get construction permits issued.
Location surveys provide much of the same information as a boundary survey but also include in-depth information about any improvements made to your property.
Mortgage location surveys are usually required by lenders and title companies before financing or offering an insurance policy.
Site-planning surveys are done before applying for building permits and can be issued before any major home improvements.
Topographic surveys provide a formal map of land elevations. It can also describe the location and size of natural features and any land improvements.
Land survey reports provide a lot of helpful information about your property and land. The exact information provided depends on the type of survey you have done, but common information that they can provide includes:
Location of utility fixtures
Clear boundaries and dimensions of your property
General topography
Land elevation information
Confirmation of easements or encroachments
Land surveys don’t technically expire. They do serve as a point of reference and a snapshot of your property, though, so as soon as you make changes to your property (and even if your neighbor makes certain changes to theirs), your existing land survey becomes inaccurate, and a new one must be done. Even if you don’t make any changes to your property, many states only guarantee the accuracy of a land survey for five to ten years.
