"High integrity company and excellent customer service. We had humidity issues with our crawlspace and were impressed with the treatment plan provided by Lance among others we looked at. We were impressed with the installation and solution. Kevin (the owner) came out to inspect the work of his installers and even repaired a vent that was not their responsibility - impressive customer service and work. We would highly recommend them."

"My basement has had water seeping in since I bought it 13 years ago. Danny and the Parks crew reinforced one wall of my basement that was buckling from hydrostatic pressure and installed their drain system outside of my home. While everything was torn up, I had them replace my driveway and front porch and walkway. They were great! We had a few delays due to the rain, but Danny kept me well-informed on the progress. Jody actually did a lot of the masonry work. He does great work! Although my yard did look like a war zone for a couple of weeks, they cleaned everything up and sowed new grass for us. My driveway turned out amazing. It’s the envy of my neighborhood and feels like butter when I drive across it. I have had zero water in my basement since they installed my system in May of this year. I would highly recommend Danny and Parks waterproofing for any masonry, concrete or waterproofing you handed done. Parks is a one-stop-shop! They handle it all."

"Used HomeAdvisor the morning of my problem and Dubose Plumbing contacted me within an hour of my submitting a request. Said that they would come in the early afternoon to fix it. Great customer service! Were a bit late in coming from the projected time but called to say they would be late. Again great customer service. Professional, quick service at a reasonable price. Couldn't be happier."

"Our technician, Dameyan Jackson, called the night before the day of service to let me know the time that he would be here to service our system. On Friday, he called to let me know that he was available to come earlier than scheduled, if I would like. He arrived shortly after the phone call, came in and quickly recognized that the pump had failed. He was very knowledgeable and professional. I was very pleased with his service and look forward to him returning to install a new pump."

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

A small sump pump running infrequently uses an average of 10 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity per month. The average cost for electricity is $0.171 per kWh. The size and use frequency affect how much electricity it uses. Sump pumps average one-third to one horsepower (hp) motors. One hp is equal to 745.7 watts. Watts multiplied by the time your pump is running divided by 1,000 equals your average kWh. Multiply kWh by your average cost of electricity. In areas with high rain or a marsh basin, the average cost can be as high as $15-$25 a month.

3/4 HP is stronger than 1/2 HP. Horsepower measures how much weight can be moved and how fast, or the power needed to move 550 pounds one foot in one second. 1 HP equals 550 foot-pounds per second, so the higher the horsepower, the heavier the load it can lift. While 1/2 HP is a standard, powerful option, 3/4 HP has the extra strength to handle heavier, larger doors with ease.

Some sump pumps are powered by water rather than electricity. Water-powered sump pumps generally use one gallon of city water to pump out two gallons of water from its basin. Therefore, if you're looking at a potential 10,000-gallon flood, your sump pump will need to use 5,000 gallons of city water to prevent it.

If your water pump fails, the first step is to turn off the power to the pump to prevent any further damage. Check for common issues such as clogs, electrical problems, or mechanical failures. If you cannot identify the problem, contact a professional who specializes in pump repairs. Prompt action can help minimize damage and repair costs.

To maintain your sump pump, start by checking it every three to four months to ensure it’s in working order. Clear any debris from the pit because blockages can prevent the pump from operating efficiently. You should also test the pump by pouring a bucket of water into the pit. If it turns on automatically and drains the water, it’s functioning correctly. Inspect the discharge line for clogs, and ensure it directs water away from your home. Once a year, clean the pump itself, and consider having it professionally serviced for optimal performance.
