"I contracted Virginia Foundation Solutions because of an issue I had with water seeping through the concrete/cinder block wall to the garage during heavy/steady rains and would install a weeping tile and pump system. The crew that came out to the job site, Joel, Alex, Tomas and Jacke known as "The Blue Crew", were on time and started the work right away. They were cognizant of the plumbing to the water well and the electrical on that side of the house. They were very careful during the excavation. The work took a good part of the day, and when it was completed, I couldn't have been happier with the overall results. I had brick pavers that I was able to incorporate into the landscape to frame out the upper layer of rock that was applied over the drainage rock and weeping tile/tubing. The testing of the pump functioned perfectly, and the electrical work was contracted through DT Electric LLC. Thank you again, Virginia Foundation Solutions and DT Electric in assisting me to resolve my water intrusion problem."

In most areas, drain cleaning professionals don’t technically need a license, as they aren’t altering your plumbing system in any way. However, we recommend hiring a drain cleaning professional with a plumbing license and certification. When a pipe bursts in your home, you should cut off the water supply to the broken pipe as quickly as possible. Sometimes you can do this by turning off an isolation valve between the burst pipe and the main water line. If a pipe bursts under your kitchen sink, for example, you should have an isolation valve in the area. However, if you can't see the burst pipe or if it involves a large water supply pipe, using the main shut-off valve is the best option to quickly stop the flow of water.

Local plumbing codes and manufacturer recommendations typically dictate the minimum distance between a sink and a dishwasher. This is generally 18 to 24 inches, providing enough room for easy loading and unloading of dishes without hindering the sink's function. If they aren’t there, try looking inside a cupboard or closet. If you plan on unhooking either pipe, make sure the water is shut completely off and have towels nearby, as there’s still water stored in the pipes.
