"They did a great job! My roof looks great! Reliable and kept me well informed about everything. They kept cost in mind and cleaned up nicely after themselves. Serge even came out late to tarp the roof until it could get repaired so that I didnâ t have any further damage to the house waiting for the roof. They were very nice to work with. Great people. I canâ t say enough good things about them!"

"The estimator returned my phone call that same day and came right on time.  When the painters arrived, the head painter, Albert Jr., soon realized that the floors, being bamboo, would be an issue in terms of holding the paint.  He went to two or three paint stores to find exactly the right primer that was needed.  The team could not have been nicer and more professional.  They did a great job, and really went the extra mile to make sure I was satisfied with the job.  They moved furniture (including a heavy sectional sofa), and came back after the job was complete to move it back.  They were very responsive with returning phone calls-- even came back to apply a second coat of paint to the floors, and I would absolutely recommend them highly.  My thanks to the team for their excellent work!

"David was able to accommodate my special paint color requests as well as fit as much as he could into my tight move-in date including working late. In addition his pricing was unbeatable with quality work. He also caulked/repaired small defects by his own will for free. Down to earth guy, yet I do think a little more professionalism would go a long way."

"I spoke with Cory and we finally were able to set a time to meet.  Cory was very professional, went over everything with me and all that would need to be repaired along with paint choices.  I had purchased paint already, but returned it and decided to go with a better quality paint that Cory offered.  I had my colors chosen, but he offered suggestions about adding another shade for the brick front of my house that I ended up using.  Originally he thought it would be a couple weeks before they could get the job done, but ended up being done the next week.  They came out and pressure washed the entire house two days before starting, and that made a huge difference.  The crew accomplished alot on the first day and I was able to get a feel for what it would look like.  I was home the next day and was very impressed with the detail and hard work that the crew put in.  They were very personable when I spoke with them.   I had purchased new shutters and they put those up for me as well.  It took approximately 3 days and the final product was fabulous.  My house looks amazing!  It did end up being more than I originally had budgeted, but the extra was definitely worth the investment.  I love the fact that if I have any issues that they will come and take care of them in the future.  Cory worked with me and was easy to reach to discuss any issues I had.  I would use them again in a heartbeat and will recommend them to everyone I know."

Plaster Repair questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can speed up the time it takes for plaster to dry, but it's important to do so carefully to avoid issues like cracking or crumbling. Proper ventilation is key; open a window or use a fan to circulate air in the room. Heat can also accelerate drying, but be cautious, as too much heat can cause the plaster to dry too quickly and crack. Check the plaster's packaging for the recommended drying temperature and set the room's thermostat accordingly. While managing humidity is important, avoid using a dehumidifier, which can remove moisture too aggressively and result in crumbly plaster.

In most cases, plaster repair will improve your home’s energy efficiency because a solid barrier of the insulative material helps keep conditioned air inside your home. Major plaster repair jobs like repairing large cracks or crumbling sections of plaster or applying a skim coat might make a noticeable difference in your heating and cooling bills. Not only can plaster repairs improve efficiency, but they can also reduce strain on your HVAC equipment, potentially saving you money on maintenance and repairs.

Applying plaster to a wall will usually cost between $2 and $10 per square foot for both the material and labor. The cost will vary based on the quality of the plaster you’re using and whether or not prep work is required before the work begins. Wall prep can add up to about 10% to your total costs. Plastering exterior walls can be more expensive in many cases because they are taller and require scaffolding and safety equipment.

All plaster walls will crack over time due to normal house settling and expansion and contraction from temperature and moisture changes. Small, thin hairline cracks are generally not serious and are mostly a cosmetic issue. However, larger or more significant cracks can indicate structural problems.

Here's how to tell the difference:

  • Cosmetic Cracks: Cracks that are 0.5 cm (0.2 inches) or thinner are typically cosmetic.

  • Structural Cracks: Cracks wider than 0.5 cm, excessive or deep cracks, multiple cracks in the same area, or cracks that span around corners can signify a structural or foundation issue. Cracks along the joints where walls meet the ceiling also warrant attention.

For cracks wider than 0.5 cm, structural repair is needed. If a crack is 2.5 cm (1 inch) or wider, or if you notice any signs of a structural problem, it is best to contact a plaster repair professional to assess the damage.

The allure of Venetian plaster lies in its unique appearance and individual characteristics in a home. It’s sophisticated and multidimensional and has a rich history dating back to Ancient Rome. This type of plaster finish is durable and represents a style of luxury that has been practiced for thousands of years. Many designers pair the texture of Venetian plaster with modern furnishings, resulting in an elegant and refined aesthetic.
