"They did a great job! My roof looks great! Reliable and kept me well informed about everything. They kept cost in mind and cleaned up nicely after themselves. Serge even came out late to tarp the roof until it could get repaired so that I didnâ t have any further damage to the house waiting for the roof. They were very nice to work with. Great people. I canâ t say enough good things about them!"

"The estimator returned my phone call that same day and came right on time.  When the painters arrived, the head painter, Albert Jr., soon realized that the floors, being bamboo, would be an issue in terms of holding the paint.  He went to two or three paint stores to find exactly the right primer that was needed.  The team could not have been nicer and more professional.  They did a great job, and really went the extra mile to make sure I was satisfied with the job.  They moved furniture (including a heavy sectional sofa), and came back after the job was complete to move it back.  They were very responsive with returning phone calls-- even came back to apply a second coat of paint to the floors, and I would absolutely recommend them highly.  My thanks to the team for their excellent work!

"David was able to accommodate my special paint color requests as well as fit as much as he could into my tight move-in date including working late. In addition his pricing was unbeatable with quality work. He also caulked/repaired small defects by his own will for free. Down to earth guy, yet I do think a little more professionalism would go a long way."

"My wife and I were extremely impressed with ProGreen. Cory Bordette was very professional, punctual, and responsive. The painters were very skilled, detailed, punctual, responsive, and clean.
Progreen painted my 2600 square foot home, including > 10 feet walls and extensive trimming, within 4 days. They sent 3 extremely skilled painters who took pride in the final product.
They started on day 1 with repair of the dry wall throughout the home. I initially thought there were only 2 areas that needed repair but they must have re-plastered > 20 areas throughout the home before they started to paint. Apparently, if you use the Emerald paint with an eggshell and satin sheen, the imperfections in the wall will be amplified after a new coat of paint.
Then they painted the 2nd floor, starting with our master bedroom, on days 1 and 2. They applied 2 coats of paint to the walls and 1 coat of paint to the ceilings, doors, and trims as requested. After they finished, they cleaned up the area as needed.
Then they painted the 1st floor on days 3 and 4. Once again, they applied 2 coats of paint to the walls and 1 coat of paint to the ceilings, doors, and trims as requested. After they finished, they cleaned up the area as well.
I was most impressed with the painters' skilled hand. I was initially apprehensive when I learned that they do not use "painters' tape" for the edges. But after research, I learned that the only very skilled painters do not use "painters' tape" since you can see subtle imperfections with "painters' tape." They painted the whole home without "painters' tape," and instead, they used an "angled paint brush." The edges were probably more clean and straight than if "painters' tape" would have been used.
I plan to use ProGreen again. I would like to get my garage painted. And, when my wife and I build our home, I will ask ProGreen to paint our home instead of the builder.
Kudos ProGreen!!!

Plaster Repair questions, answered by experts

Although they have similar applications, spackle and joint compound are not the same. Their primary differences lie in their composition, consistency, and ideal use cases.

Spackle is composed of gypsum and binding agents, making it thicker than joint compound. It dries quickly and is easy to sand, which makes it ideal for small wall repair projects like filling nail holes or patching minor damage.

Joint compound, also known as drywall mud, consists of limestone and gypsum. It is primarily used for large-scale projects, such as taping and finishing the seams on newly installed drywall. It tends to shrink more than spackle and can be more difficult to spread.

While both products can be used to fill small depressions and cracks, spackle cannot replace joint compound for taping and mudding new drywall. Conversely, you can often use joint compound for small patching jobs typically done with spackle.

Professionals diagnose underlying causes, such as structural shifts or moisture problems, and apply appropriate solutions like reinforcement, patching, or sealing. These measures restore wall integrity and prevent recurrence, ensuring long-term stability.

The short answer is yes, a sagging plaster ceiling is dangerous. Sagging plaster on a wall is something you should fix immediately, but it isn’t a major concern. If the same type of sagging occurs on a ceiling, however, you could be in danger of your ceiling falling in large chunks. When plaster sags, it loses its strength and ability to hold itself up. The bonds that hold it together are strong, though, so if a sagging area falls, it will take large pieces down with it.

On average, repairing a ceiling costs anywhere from $450 to $1,750. However, there are many variables that can impact the price of this project. For example, the type of ceiling material, type and extent of the damage, and local labor rates all affect your costs. Holes and cracks are less expensive to fix, while structural issues and water damage are pricier problems.

You can plaster over regular drywall, but it's essential to prepare the surface properly. Before plastering, the drywall should be clean, free of dust, and any loose or peeling paint should be removed. Applying a primer specifically designed for plastering can improve adhesion. Some professionals recommend applying a base coat of plaster or joint compound to create a better surface for the plaster to adhere to. Proper preparation ensures a smooth and durable plaster finish over regular drywall.
