"requested an in-person quote for job. they said they had a drone site review and new what to do. so it seemed like a bait and switch for the quote. they only addressed part of the job and then added extra charge for crack filling. however I am satisfied but would have liked the whole job done as requested."

"The charged less than half what two other companies quoted for the same job. The crew was large and got the job done in less than an hour and cleaned everything up to the point where it looked better than it did before, even trimmed some tree limbs for me."

Emergency services offered

"I used Tycoon Sealcoating for my driveway last Thursday. Called them on Monday and they got me scheduled within an hour. I got a quote within minutes of being on the phone with Alaina and she was easy to communicate with. When the team arrived, they were punctual, clean, and very respectful of what my requests were. My driveway is about 0.08 miles long, and it was done when I came back from my errands. I am highly delighted with how everything turned out, no more pot holes, and also fixed a large piece of pavement that was missing from my driveway. Camden and his team left as if they were never there, very clean, very thorough. All in all, my experience with this company was exactly what I needed, and will be recommending them to friends and family."

Driveway Sealcoating questions, answered by experts

If your asphalt driveway shows cracks, potholes, or standing water, it’s likely time for a repair. Cracks, big or small, let water seep in, weakening the base and causing further damage. Potholes are a sign of this weakening process in action while standing water suggests your driveway has poor drainage, which can cause even more issues. You may also see warping or buckling—a sign of a compromised base layer—or sinking pavement. Spotting these signs early on can help you save yourself a bigger repair bill in the future.

Regular cleaning, sealing, and timely repair of cracks help maintain its condition.

If you notice minor cosmetic problems with your driveway, you should seal it. Look out for cracks and holes on the surface, faded asphalt or concrete, and stains from oil and other chemicals. Replacing your driveway may be necessary if you’re dealing with significant problems—¼-inch cracks, large potholes, and puddles from drainage issues. The cost to install an asphalt driveway typically ranges between $4,200 and $9,000, significantly more than resealing. Consider talking to a professional to discuss whether resurfacing your driveway—a midway project between resealing and replacing—is a better option for you.

Asphalt is made of aggregate materials (sand, rocks, and gravel) and bitumen, a viscous, petroleum-based, waterproof substance. These materials are mixed together at extremely high temperatures to form asphalt.

Common issues that require asphalt repair include cracking, potholes, surface crumbling, fading, uneven surfaces, weather-induced damage, and drainage problems. Regular maintenance is crucial for maintaining safety and aesthetics and can prevent more significant damage.
