"Fantastic, done in the time frame quoted. Cost was as quoted. David Gibson is professional and kind. He works efficiently and keeps a very clean work area. He kept my pet in mind and was certain she never escaped (which she is an escape artist). David kept me posted throughout the day with updates on his progress leveling the floors. Since his work is complete I am thrilled with the improvement to my 1927 bungalow. It is solid, I can walk through rooms and the furniture no longer shakes. I used to know when the school bus drove by because my house would shake, but that no longer happens. I was shocked when I saw the bus pass but the house was quiet and still. Thank you David, my basement and foundation are secure."

"Brent, Keith and their entire crew were amazing to work with. They are honest, did exactly what they said they'd do, and did it on time. We went over the estimate as we had additional work done because they were so good to work with. The sub-contractors they have - plumber, electrician (installed a kitchenette in the lower level) and concrete mason (we had a window put in a 12" thick cement block wall) - all did superb work and arrived when K&B said they would as well. We will definitely have them do more work for us moving forward."

"I can't believe how smoothly this repair went! Everyone at Falcone--the schedulers who arranged our estimate visit and the repair work, the foundation experts who repaired the porch, the finance people who explained the estimate and our final bill--every single one of them was helpful, prompt, courteous, and great at their jobs. The county inspector who reviewed the porch repair even made a point of telling us what high quality work the Falcone people had done for us! I would definitely call them again! If you're interested in our specific details, this repair was crucial to maintaining our house's structural integrity; since the screened-in porch is attached to the house, if it went down the hill, so would the back wall of the house! The foundation had cracked away from the main house and the slab was cracked and sliding apart at different angles. The men from Falcone excavated, cleaned, and prepped the job site, including washing the bottom section of the slab to promote bonding when the new concrete was poured. Then they poured a porch perimeter slab wall under the slab to stabilize the foundation. In addition, they installed a backer rod and applied concrete sealant to re-connect the porch foundation to house and prevent additional damage."

"I did not have to have the work done. He came out and saw the real problem which we are working on now - something I can do myself. With that kind of service, if I needed the area dug out and sealed, he would be the first one I would call."

"David is great. He explained everything to me and made sure I understood the variables and impacts during each decision. He installed a bathroom in my basement where there hadn't been one before. The final product looked like it had always been there -- it "belonged" in my house -- and increased to usability of our lower level, allowing us to rent part of it out. I had him come back and do the backsplash in my kitchen. Again -- flawless work with reasonable pricing and helpful communication. Thanks, David!"

"I discovered continuous high humidity under my house. Called HydroHelp911 because a friend recommended them. HydroHelp911 came and made recommendations and explained what was needed. The price was very reasonable. The work was completed in a timely manner. I would use HydroHelp911 again and will recommend HydroHelp911 to my friends."

"My experience with Big Hills Construction has been excellent. Everyone knows that building a home is very complicated and there?s a lot of moving parts. There?s always going to be issues and fixes when you build a new home. Big Hills construction has got five or six homes under construction and the new neighborhood that I live in, but they still have time to get to my punch list and take care of any little issues that pop up. I can?t tell you how nice their crew is. Even though most of them do not speak the language I speak. It?s amazing how easy it is to communicate with them. All in all I give it an A+."

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

Pros often use mudjacking or polyurethane foam injection to level a sunken concrete patio. Both methods lift the slab by filling voids beneath it. After properly compacting the soil beneath it to prevent future settling, the concrete may need to be removed and re-poured for severe sinking.

A sinking foundation can be lifted, most often by installing piers to re-level and support the weight of the house. Depending on the cause and extent of the sinking, other methods to lift a foundation include underpinning and mudjacking. Consult a foundation repair pro to determine the best way to lift your sinking foundation.

Mudjacking typically takes 24 to 72 hours (one to three days) to dry and cure completely before you can resume normal use. The exact time can vary depending on the size of the project. Because the slurry mixture contains cement, it must fully harden to ensure that added weight from walking, furniture, or vehicles won't shift the concrete slab. A professional contractor can advise you on when the surface is safe to use. For comparison, if you use polyjacking instead, the polyurethane foam can dry in just a few minutes, but it's best to wait about an hour before use.

Most projects take 1-3 hours, with immediate usability after completion.

It’s best not to perform mudjacking in the winter unless the ground temperature remains above freezing. Freezing temperatures can cause the slurry to harden too quickly, compromising its strength and longevity. Concrete is also more susceptible to cracking and splitting in cold temperatures, so there’s a higher risk of damaging the slab during the drilling and lifting process in winter.
