Small jobs welcome

"I needed a walker assembled and Byron called immediately. As we were talking - there were other things I needed done that Byron could do. He caulked my tub and it looks great!!! He put together the walker for my 90 year old Mom in a flash and took time to adjust it for her to her liking. He fixed my attic door and lubricated my garage doors. He did a great job with all of it and I will use him again."

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

Signs of improper pool and spa service include persistent air bubbles in return lines or recurring algae blooms from unaddressed phosphate issues. Charlotte experiences frequent freeze-thaw cycles, so cracked tile grout is a clear warning sign. You should also look for deck cracking caused by shifting red clay soil. If your GFCI breakers trip constantly, you have a serious electrical hazard that requires immediate correction by a certified local professional.

Helpful?

A standard pool construction and installation project takes three to six months to complete. Permitting through local Charlotte offices requires three to six weeks, while neighborhood association approvals add extra time beforehand. Expect weather delays from summer afternoon thunderstorms or timeline extensions if contractors encounter subsurface rock during excavation. Start your project in the fall to secure faster permitting and better contractor availability for a spring completion.

Helpful?

Before starting pool and spa service, check with your local permit office, as structural or electrical work requires approval. You must contact NC 811 at least three days before digging to locate utilities. Review your neighborhood HOA rules for equipment placement and service hours. Schedule your project in late winter to avoid the spring rush. Finally, contact your municipal water provider proactively to request a sewer credit for significant pool fills.

Helpful?

After pool construction and installation, prepare for year-round upkeep. During the intense Charlotte pollen season, skim the water and clean filters frequently. Test and adjust your water chemistry two to three times per week throughout the humid summer months. Inspect the pool shell and coping annually for cracks caused by expanding clay soil. Before winter, balance the chemistry, apply a cover, and protect your equipment from freezing temperatures.

Helpful?

A major mistake during pool and spa service is discharging backwash into street gutters, which violates local stormwater ordinances and results in fines. Homeowners also skip proper soil compaction for equipment pads, leading to rapid cracking in Charlotte’s expansive clay. Attempting DIY electrical work without verifying proper bonding creates a severe electrocution hazard. Always hire a licensed professional to handle electrical components and perform a complete water chemistry analysis.
