"We talked on phone first to help him diagnose the problem. He then checked back in with me. He is very knowledgeable in all things electric. He helped us out at the drop of s dime. He was very fast. Fixed our problems. We do have to have more electrical work done. He is our electrician for all things. He knew exactly what the problem was. Alan Came very fast & fixed it. I've had 2 other "electricians" that couldn't figure the problem out. Alan was courteous, kind and professional. He genuinely cares about the safety of his customers. We highly recommend him for ALL things electrical!"

"The problem turned out to be a burned out small electric door switch. I believe the price was way too expensive for the service performed and the price of the door switch. What more can I say? It got done."

"We were very pleased with the entire process of our project. There was a lot of labor involved, but the work was always completed in a time-efficient and professional manner. We obtained a permit prior to starting our electrical project, and we were thrilled to pass every inspection. We would definitely recommend AddAwire!"

"I was incredibly pleased with all aspects of the work done by Kreiser electric. Chris Kreiser gave me options at several price points, but also made a recommendation to upgrade my electrical service in my beach house. His justification for the upgrade was sound, and the quote was reasonable. During the work, several issues arose as my house is quite "rustic", built before many electrical code changes. We also experienced scheduling challenges with the local power company. Through it all, Chris was calm and very communicative, and always had a fallback option that would make sure power would be restored as soon as possible. Overall I could not be more pleased by the work done by Kreiser Electric. Chris Kreiser clearly cares about the customer."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

No, outdoor outlets are not required to be on a separate circuit. However, you should always defer to local electrical codes when making decisions about how to install your new outlet. An experienced local electrician will be able to inform you of all codes and requirements in place at your home.

A water heater is one of the heaviest hitters in your home, and it needs as much power as possible to help it run efficiently and effectively.

Your water heater should be on its own dedicated circuit breaker, with no other power sources running to it. This is required to meet the National Electric Code–and to ensure it runs as efficiently as possible.

Burnt outlets can be caused by things such as faulty wiring, loose connections, or a circuit overload—and yes, they are extremely dangerous. If you notice your outlet is hot or has burn marks, you should shut off the power to it from the circuit breaker and immediately call an electrician.

While it’s not mandatory unless you’re purchasing a home, it is important to schedule regular home electrical inspections for safety and to maintain your house’s value. Inspections can reduce fire risk and can help save money on insurance premiums. They can also catch problems before they start, saving money on repairs down the line.

Yes, it's possible to have electrical receptacles and overhead lights on the same circuit. The reason is that lights typically use much less power than large appliances, so combining them won't overload your circuit. By doing this, you can distribute the power consumption throughout the breakers in your panel more efficiently, which can be helpful if you have a lot of different electrical devices in your home.
