"Elijah installed 200 ft of stone and metal border/edging, removed several small trees, planted appx 12 hedge bushes, delivered and spread 30 yards of mulch, and did several other things in my yard. Work was top quality, and his communication was even better. He kept me informed about every detail of the work being performed. The best example of Elijah's professionalism is as follows..... The excavator did a number on my yard because of the excessive rain we had. My back yard grass was a nasty, muddy mess. It wasn't Elijah's fault, but he said, "I'm going to make your grass look better than it did before we started your project." And he did. He graded, aerated, seeded, and put hay over the seed, at no cost. He did it because he cares about his customers and he always wants to do the right thing. I have other small examples as well, but the point is that I WOULD NOT HESITATE to hire Elijah/Chase for ANY landscape work I need in the future."

"We had a great experience working with Bryan at The BC Group Engineering. He was incredibly responsive from the beginning, answered all of our questions, and made the entire process easy. He was able to schedule our site visit quickly and provided our stamped structural engineering plans in a very timely manner. The plans were thorough, professional, and easy to understand, which has given us confidence as we move forward with our load-bearing wall removal project. If you're looking for a structural engineer who is knowledgeable, communicative, and efficient, I would highly recommend The BC Group Engineering."

"Paul worked diligently to correct quite a few errors left by another contractor. He is supposed to be finished by this weekend and I expect the results to be nothing but excellent! I highly recommend Paul and would not hesitate to call him again for other jobs."

Customers say: True professional

"He is a pretty good guy.  He still does the work here in the neighborhood.  He does everything.  He is really good at granite countertops and new kitchen.  He is good at tile work.  The price was really good for the amount of work he did.  He did a lot of tile work.  I paid for the materials.  He was excellent.  He did exactly what he was going to do and that was a good thing.  He fulfilled his commitment.  He is really good at what he does.  He got a clear understanding of what I wanted to do.  He listened to what I had to say.  He did what I expected.  I didn't think I was overcharged for what was done.  He did a really great job.  He was here when he said he would be here and he was here every day until the job was done.  He came out for several weeks.  He was here on time.  He worked till 5 or 6'o clock and he would pick it up the next day.  He was very good.  He did what he said he was going to do.  I was impressed with the overall job he did.  I got him to other people who had high expectation also.  He is a pretty straightforward individual.  I got what I paid for."

Architects questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on project complexity, software requirements, and the draftsperson’s experience.

A floor plan is a less detailed illustration showing a building or room's layout from above, including elements like windows, doors, walls, and fixtures. It offers a simplified view for homeowners. In contrast, a blueprint is a more detailed, to-scale architectural drawing that includes all parts of the building plans, such as structural elements, construction details, and utility schematics. While a floor plan can be a type of view within a blueprint, the complete blueprint contains all the necessary details to turn the plan into a reality.

With proper training and experience, reading blueprints is fairly straightforward and not very difficult. If you don’t have the necessary knowledge to interpret the symbols, abbreviations, and other notations used, blueprints may not make sense. Learning to read blueprints can help you understand the construction process and keep you more involved and informed when you’re building a house.

A home elevator is a fantastic way to improve your home’s accessibility. Elevators allow anyone, even those who use wheelchairs or walkers, to safely move between floors within your home.

Dumbwaiters may allow you to move items up and down floors, and stair lifts can move people up and down, but elevators are the best option if you need space for people, their belongings, and/or mobility aids such as wheelchairs.

That said, home elevators cost more than other options, such as stair lifts. Consider your needs and your budget when deciding the best way to make your home more accessible to a person with a disability or a person who is aging in place.

Federal and Colonial architecture are similar in that they both appear mostly utilitarian and symmetrical, but Federal architecture is a bit more ornate. Federal design often includes decorative palladium windows, window lintels, and, sometimes, columns surrounding a more decorative portico. Inside, Federal architecture is set apart by its centrally-located oval room. Additionally, Federal homes tend to have brick facades, whereas Colonial homes more often have wood siding.
