"Custom materials took a while to come in, but the company kept in contact the whole time about where we were in the process. Installation of ten windows and siding along the top floor, soffetting and trim, taking down the gutters and wrapping the wood in aluminum, all done in less than a week. The project lead, Chad Whitmore, was able to answer all of our questions and concerns promptly. Looks great!"

Installing sound-dampening curtains, thick blinds, or shades can also help deaden sound vibrations. For an additional interior barrier, consider installing an acrylic or plexiglass sheet inside the window, which stifles sound while still allowing for outdoor views. Another strategy is to add external barriers, like dense shrubbery or a sturdy fence, to block neighborhood noises. If these methods are not effective enough, it might be time to install new noise-canceling windows.

Soundproof windows can’t completely block all noises, but they will significantly reduce sound from the road, sky, or your neighborhood’s weekend activities. Choose a soundproof window with an STC rating of at least 45 to block bass tones or loud conversations. Laminated glass windows can reduce noise by 75%. You can also add noise-reducing curtains to further muffle loud noises.
