It’s not enough to just do “good work”. There are many home improvement companies out there and to be fair, most are capable of doing “good work”. However “good” is often times not enough. When you embark on a home improvement project, it sometimes can be a frustrating experience. Changes in the scope of work, unforeseen delays in production and cost overruns can turn a simple project into a difficult one. When you choose to do business with Legacy you are partnering with a company who cares. We believe in values, customer satisfaction, high quality craftsmanship and dependability. Our approach is not simply to “guide the process” but to listen and understand your needs in order to bring it to reality. We have a collection of knowledge and experience designed to make a difference and give you peace of mind throughout the project from start to completion.

Established in 1982, Lloyd's Electric Service has grown into one of the top electrical contractor companies in the region. Our company offers residential, commercial and industrial electric services, alternative energy solutions, preventative maintenance, and fiber optics installations. Our commitment to our customers and community is apparent through our efficient and high quality work. During our storied history,we have become experienced in a broad range of markets.

"I was told that charges would begin when they left their shop and would end at the completion of the job. Sadly, I was charged for a trip to and from, neither of which was in the proposal. In speaking to other electrical companies as well as my own 45 years of experience as a home improvement contractor, installing a couple of bath exhaust fans is clearly a one man job, and should've cost around $350 - $400 total. However I found upon their arrival that the company policy is to send 2 men per job whatever the job. I provided a ladder for easy access to the hugely open attic and then proceeded to observe the next 3 hours one man doing 95% of the work as the other basically watched. No problem... accept that I was being charged $70 per hour per man and then told by the rude and unreasonable office personnel, Victor, that he was informed by the techs that I probably would be unhappy with the high charges. Being charged a $280 trip charge as well as $70 per hr. for a "gopher" is pretty excessive. I would never recommend Lloyd's Electric to anyone and am sorry I had to experience using them even once. They did say they enjoyed my wife's fresh German chocolate cake as well as the remainder roll of my "special" tape they took!"

Energy Efficiency Auditing questions, answered by experts

Heat pumps transfer existing heat instead of generating it, using less energy. Compared to baseboard heaters, they can reduce heating costs by up to 50% and provide efficient cooling, lowering electricity bills and carbon footprint.

There are a few ways to reduce your electricity bills if you use window AC units to keep cool. Set the unit temperature at least 1 degree higher than it is currently to reduce costs. Keep the unit clean for it to run efficiently. You may want to hire a window AC specialist near you to inspect the unit once a year and keep it in tip-top shape.

You can determine what size generator you need by listing the various appliances it will power during an outage. Write down the start-up watt usage, and then add them all together.

A 7,500-watt generator will run your refrigerator, freezer, well pump, and lighting circuits without a problem. However, you’ll need an extra 3,000 to 4,500 watts to run your water heater and another 5,000 to 25,000 watts to run your electric furnace. In these instances, a whole-home generator is your best bet for running your critical equipment.

Home power is measured in kilowatt-hours, commonly expressed as kWh. The average home uses between 800 and 1,000 kWh per month. Peak usage (and highest bills) occurs in the middle of summer and the depths of winter. Keeping on top of your usage during these crucial months will lower your annual average usage considerably.

The effect a gas fireplace has on your gas bill will depend on how often you use it, the size of the rooms you’re heating with it, and the BTUs of the fireplace itself, but generally speaking, it should only cost a few cents an hour to run it when it’s on. It will consume minimal energy when it’s “off” if you have a pilot light running constantly, but some modern gas fireplaces don’t require a constant pilot light.
