"Showed up as promised at 7:59 am.. even a bit early. Ready to go immediately on arrival. Courteous. Efficient. Fast. Excellent communication with home owner/work team.. they asked what I wanted and how i would prefer the work be done, if possible. Climbed the tree and began limbing/trimming process immediately even though it was raining at the time. Sergio is a brave-agile-fearless-talented young man with squirrel-like balance and climbing capabilities. They cleaned up and piled brush even though I had not expected that. Rodolfio and Frank both hard workers and great team members and Rodolfio is a good team leader. Have already recommended them to friends and would definitely re-hire for future needs."

"I have used Sans Tree Service in the past 2019 and hired them this week to limb up tall trees, remove small trees on our small lot and remove a very large white oak limb that was growing over our roof. I also asked them to shear the tops of two large hollys and shear an entire very large holly. This company went way beyond our expectations; their attention to detail was exceptional and they performed more work than was expected such as shearing additional hollys around our yard! They arrived on time and completed the work rapidly and the results were excellent! Will be using their services again!"

"Holly Forest Tree Service did a large project for me to include trimming out trees so they would not hit the house in one of these high-wind storms, thinning out two huge monkey pine trees, trimming bushes, removing a small tree, and removing a huge old walnut tree. The reason for removing the walnut tree was it was starting to rot in the middle and I was afraid it would fall onto the small one-way bridge located right next to it and cause severe damage. This bridge is the only ingress and egress for several homes in the neighborhood and having the bridge out of service for even one day would be a nightmare for a lot of people. The workers did not mess around and they worked from the time they got here until the time they left (with a short lunch period). I never saw them sitting idly by or stopping to chat or talk on their cell phone. They have a strong work ethic and did an exemplary clean up job. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for tree service."

"I have actually enjoyed interacting with Arrin (son of the owner) as he evaluated what I have in my yard (mostly weeds and a great variety of grass) and what i would need to do to rejuvenate it. What I really liked, is that he didn't recommend some fancy sod (which I had considered), and told me why this probably wouldn't work well. the quality of soil, the slope of the property, the time of year, etc). I asked him what he would do if it were his, and he said, kill the weeds, add good topsoil, seed it and water it regularly. Sounded good to me, and much less expensive than sod. Weeds were killed a couple weeks ago (took 2 applications), and top soil and seed were applied today. So, if I do my part and water every other day (as he recommended), I should have great grass started and up to me to keep it that way."

Tree Service FAQs, answered by experts

For tree service in Asheville, select native trees like Eastern Hemlock, Sugar Maple, or Dogwood to ensure long-term health. Use organic compost and pine bark mulch to enhance the region’s clay soil and promote drainage. Slow-release, organic fertilizers suit Asheville’s acidic soil. For protection, burlap wraps help prevent winter ice damage, while sturdy deer fencing and high-quality pruning tools support healthy growth and maintenance.

Helpful?

In Asheville, combining tree service with landscaping, irrigation installation, or exterior repairs can streamline your project and reduce disruptions. Coordinating these upgrades allows for efficient use of equipment and shared site preparation. Fall and winter are ideal for major tree work, so pairing it with seasonal tasks like gutter cleaning or drainage improvements can maximize efficiency and help you stay ahead of Asheville’s unpredictable weather.

Helpful?

Completing tree service in Asheville provides immediate benefits like improved safety by removing hazardous limbs and enhancing curb appeal. Over the long term, healthy trees can increase property value, support local wildlife, and improve air quality. Strategic tree removal or pruning also helps manage stormwater runoff and reduces erosion, making your landscape more resilient and easier to maintain for years to come.

Helpful?

Your Asheville property is a strong candidate for tree service if you notice dead or overgrown branches, trees leaning toward your home, or roots impacting walkways or foundations. Homes on Asheville’s hillsides benefit from strategic tree placement to prevent erosion. If your landscape blocks mountain views or hasn’t been professionally assessed in years, scheduling an arborist evaluation can reveal opportunities to enhance safety and property value.

Helpful?

In Asheville, unexpected costs during tree service projects often arise from permit requirements for protected or large trees, especially in historic neighborhoods. Additional charges may occur if tree removal involves working near utility lines, requires specialized equipment for steep slopes, or includes stump grinding and hauling debris. Emergency storm cleanup and restoring disturbed landscaping can also add to your final expenses, so it’s wise to discuss these possibilities upfront.
