"Dustin and his crew have trimmed my large Drake Elm tree and two Yapoon Holly trees since 2013. Dustin is an arborist who knows his trees. He welcomes my input and takes time to explain exactly what will be done. Very professional and easily accessible."

"Michael worked with us for about 2 months after Hurricane Michael, clearing trees and debris. We encountered him when he first arrived in town and from there, we referred enough work from our friends to keep him busy without any need to advertise for more work. They were very professional and thorough, reasonably priced, worked very hard and easy to communicate with. We thought so much of Michael and his crew that we asked them to stay in our second home during their time in Florida. We highly recommend this business and wouldn?t hesitate to use them again at any opportunity- they were the BEST!! Sara and Don Hughes, Marianna FL"

"Jonathan did a wonderful job. He was a pleasure to work with. Added sod, irrigation and ornamental plants to my front and back yard. He replaced damaged irrigation heads. He is doing another project for us next week. Adding new beds along the driveway and trimming and pruning all our bushes. Very knowledgeable. Not pushy and has many good inexpensive ideas. We have recommended him to many of our friends. Glad we found him!!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

In most cases, your neighbor is responsible for roots from their tree that cause damage to your property. If your pavement, the foundation of your home, or a fence is damaged by roots from a neighbor’s tree, you likely will have legal recourse for financial relief. While it’s better to notify your neighbor of any problems you notice as soon as they arise to avoid costly damage, there are some instances where filing a civil suit is your only recourse. Your homeowner’s insurance company might wish to do so on your behalf if you file a claim.

There are several signs that may indicate a tree needs to be cut down. These include visible damage to the trunk or branches, a hollow trunk, extensive storm damage, or a significant lean to one side. Other warning signs are pest infestations or the tree growing too close to a house, power lines, or other structures. It is best to hire a professional arborist to inspect the tree, as they can determine if it can be saved or if removal is necessary.

Tree trimming can count as landscaping, depending on how a landscaping business describes its services. Professional tree trimmers are more specialized than landscapers and offer trimming services separately from general landscaping.

When general landscaping companies offer tree trimming, look up the details. They usually mean shaping or seasonal trimming of ornamental trees, which is different from trimming larger trees for health or safety reasons. When possible, look for a licensed expert that specializes in trees and tree health.

It depends on the problem, the affected part of the tree, the risk of the pathogen spreading, and the overall health of your tree. Many diseases, fungal infections, and insect infestations can be successfully treated, especially if the issue is only in a few branches. However, if a disease is too widespread, too severe, too easily spread, or in the roots, the tree will likely need to be removed.

Peach trees grow to be about 25 feet, so keep this in mind for pruning as well. If you plan to DIY, you’ll need to be comfortable working on a ladder. Without pruning, peach tree branches can sprawl nearly as wide as the tree grows tall, so make sure to plan pruning sessions at least once per year in the spring for controlled growth. And if you’re working on a ladder, be sure to follow all safety precautions, especially if you’ll be dealing with falling branches.
