Customers say: Super punctual

"I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! I just moved to the Fayetteville area, and though I can hang drywall and put down flooring, I felt overwhelmed, as I had to gut 70% of the house and the hallway. So I got someone’s business card, and they said They could drywall the hall way and my bathroom while I stepped out for a few hours. I came back and I had to let those guys go as it was bad.. I got lucky and found G&G Drywall. In a little over 4 hours they had my hallway ceiling up, and the drywall finished. They did an Amazing job beyond Any and All my expectations!!! They cleaned up and I Never was more happy to pay for a professional service in my life.. If you need a Job done right, and you don’t want to waste your time and aggravation of dealing with someone that may not finish the job, call G&G Drywall.. I Will use their services anytime I want the job done right.. my Only Regret outside of Not finding them first, is the fact I can only give them 5 Stars, because they’re So much better then a 5 star. Thanks guys!!"

"One of the greatest contractors I’ve had the pleasure of working with! If you have any projects drywall related this is the expert to hire. He not only explained exactly what needed to be done but walked me through each step as if I were doing it myself. I look forward to the many more times I get to hire this man for future work."

"Mike and Crystal were very professional from the first phone contact through the completion of the work. They showed up on time, their work was neat and they worked very efficiently. My windows were in pretty bad shape. They really took their time and prepped them very well which showed in the finished product. When asked to redo or touch up anything it was done without question. In the end we received a very good paint job on a timely basis and at a competitive price. I have already recommended Mike's Painting to others in my neighborhood and would use him again for future painting needs.

"I used my Home Advisor App to find a pro to fix my heat in a desperate need. They contacted me immediately and made it to my home within a hour. Found the problem, took a picture of it for me to see, fixed it and brought what was wrong down for me to see and made it so I wouldn't have the same issue. Great service will be using again."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

You do not need to drywall over most types of garage insulation. However, doing so can increase noise reduction, make the space more attractive, and keep children and pets from touching harmful fiberglass insulation. If you’re using cellulose or some other type of blown-in insulation (fiberglass and mineral wool are common), you will need drywall to contain the insulation material.

Although they have similar applications, spackle and joint compound are not the same. Their primary differences lie in their composition, consistency, and ideal use cases.

Spackle is composed of gypsum and binding agents, making it thicker than joint compound. It dries quickly and is easy to sand, which makes it ideal for small wall repair projects like filling nail holes or patching minor damage.

Joint compound, also known as drywall mud, consists of limestone and gypsum. It is primarily used for large-scale projects, such as taping and finishing the seams on newly installed drywall. It tends to shrink more than spackle and can be more difficult to spread.

While both products can be used to fill small depressions and cracks, spackle cannot replace joint compound for taping and mudding new drywall. Conversely, you can often use joint compound for small patching jobs typically done with spackle.

Yes, it matters which side of drywall you use. One side is smooth, and the other is rough. The smooth side should be facing outward, toward the room, while the rough side should be hidden and facing the studs and framing of the house. The smooth side will be easier to apply tape, joint compound, and, later, paint to.

Small patches can be DIY, but professionals handle large-scale repairs with seamless results.

Yes, you can speed up the time it takes for plaster to dry, but it's important to do so carefully to avoid issues like cracking or crumbling. Proper ventilation is key; open a window or use a fan to circulate air in the room. Heat can also accelerate drying, but be cautious, as too much heat can cause the plaster to dry too quickly and crack. Check the plaster's packaging for the recommended drying temperature and set the room's thermostat accordingly. While managing humidity is important, avoid using a dehumidifier, which can remove moisture too aggressively and result in crumbly plaster.
