"My certified inspector MatthewCote out of the Belgrade, MT office found i have a natural spring comming up in my crawlspace. I knew I had water streaming all over crawlspace and my husband believed it was due to watering lawn of the hill our house sits on. Matt was great to work with, he was totally professional. He explained my situation and showed me in photos and map of my basement what this ssprincause, how it had eroded and damage caused. It has been going on for quite a few years, of which I noticed escalation of water even though I decreased watering on above lawn. I wish I had researched this sooner. But MATT assured me it's not too late. He was clear and concise as to what I needed done to resolve and eliminate further damage by installing 2 sump pumps, installing trenches & piping to drain all areas of water, draining ouside of house past septic and leach field, add a humidifier and encapsulation of crawlspace. Regularly inspecting your foundation—at least the visible sections—for signs of foundation issues like moisture and pest infestation is a good way to identify slab leaks early, as is keeping an eye and ear out for water damage to indoor building materials, above-average water bills, sounds of running water when no fixtures or appliances are on, and indoor humidity that causes the temperatures to feel more extreme. If you do find any issues, contact a plumber right away to check it out for you.

If there is standing liquid on your concrete, remove it before attempting any of the above cleaning methods. For small amounts of water, use rags, a bucket, and a mop. For larger areas of liquid, lay down cat litter or baking soda to soak up the water first. If you have extremely large pools of water sitting on your concrete, break out the wet vac and get to work.

Because it’s faster and uses less materials and energy, resurfacing a driveway is more eco-friendly than replacing it. However, that doesn’t mean it’s always the best option. When deciding between driveway resurfacing vs. replacing, it’s important to consider the age of your driveway and the level of damage. In some cases, replacing it may be a better choice for your budget.

Small cracks should be filled with a flexible crack filler, like a rubberized asphalt-emulsion crack filler or a flexible masonry crack filler. Larger cracks need something a bit more solid to prevent further movement and to avoid having to use too much of the flexible filler. For concrete, you can use a concrete backer rod while asphalt can handle sand, gravel, or even dirt.

Mix the resurfacer into a sticky mixture. The consistency should look like mashed potatoes. Use a squeegee to push the resurfacer across the pitted area and smoothen the surface with a cement trowel flush. Make sure you protect any expansion joints with a weather strip. Alternatively, cut out any resurfacer that touched the joint once the mixture begins to harden.
