"Michael did an outstanding job repairing our concrete sidewalk and driveway. He was always on time, worked incredibly hard, and made sure everything was done the right way instead of taking shortcuts. Communication was excellent throughout the entire project he kept us informed, answered any questions we had, and was professional from start to finish. The quality of the work really shows, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone needing concrete repair or flatwork. Great experience all around!"

"We’ve hired Craig for several of our custom home projects. His experience and skills are well rounded with painting, staining, epoxy floors, etc. Craig consistently meets the mark we strive for, and the timeline we need to work within. He works well with our other subcontractors, and keeps a tidy job site. We will gladly continue to use and recommend Grand Painting."

"MDK did a fantastic job! Because building professionals from all fields are extremely busy in Montana during the summer high volume construction months, it's difficult to find specialized contractors. I was able to get three separate proposals but would have had to wait for two months for two of the professionals to get a job started. Tony at MDK really pulled a rabbit out of the hat. Between jobs in Dillon, Butte and Big Sky, Tony put in a week of long days and nights to completely prep, finish, speckle and overcoat my 600 sq ft garage. Because of his work ethic, punctuality and professionalism, I asked him to add a two foot spray guard around the inside perimeter of the garage to match the floor finish. I plan to over-finish the patios and walkways in the future to prevent cracking and expedite snow removal."

Small jobs welcome

"Jeff and his crew at Fullbright Custom Concrete did a great job replacing our front porch and sidewalk. We went with colored stamped concrete that looks like wood. The end result exceeded our expectations. Even though the cost for stamped was double the broomed, the price was still fair, and the stamped option added more value and curb appeal to our home than we spent. We highly recommend Jeff and Fullbright Concrete. They did an excellent job."

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

Coating enhancements often greatly benefit garages, patios, driveways, and commercial floors, elevating functional durability and curb appeal.

When you’re painting a garage floor, it’s best to use a combination of rollers and brushes. You’ll want to start with a brush, making a border around the edges where the floor meets the wall. From there you can use a roller, though some people also like to do the entire first coat with a brush because it’s easier to work the paint into the textured concrete.

Whether it's better to stain or paint concrete depends on your budget, desired aesthetic, and DIY skill level. Generally, staining is a more durable option because the stain soaks into the concrete's surface and won't wear away like a topical paint coating. Painting concrete can trap moisture underneath the paint layer, which may cause the concrete to deteriorate over time. However, concrete paint offers a wider variety of colors, is typically easier and less expensive to apply, and is effective at covering up existing stains or blemishes on the surface.

The best way to resurface a concrete porch is to clean and prep the surface, pour a layer of concrete on top, allow it to cure, then seal it. A concrete overlay provides a durable layer and enhances your porch's look. You can even choose a stamped overlay to make it look like stone or brick. To ensure structural integrity, repair concrete cracks before applying the new concrete. If the existing concrete is in significant disrepair, consider removing and replacing the concrete instead of an overlay.

A concrete seal can protect your garage floor from water and stains as can an epoxy coating. The main difference is that epoxy is much more durable and better for heavy-duty wear and tear—it’s used in more industrial and commercial settings. If you’re just using the garage as storage for tools and your car, concrete sealer will do just fine. But if your garage doubles as a workshop for side projects and auto repair, epoxy will hold up better.
