"Having many years of general contracting experience I woud say that CCS ranks in the very top tier of subcontractors I have worked with. I had an interior basement hallway in an historic downtown building that needed leveling and coating with a building full of commercial tenants. I was worried about concrete dust migrations, tenant disruption and the fact I had not seen any of their prior floor coatings locally . Nailed it! Worked over the Presidents Day weekend to accomplish the contract. If one contract performance is a trend, these guys dialed it in. Full unqualified recommendation RJ Clemow, MidNIte Development LLC , Missoula MT"

"JJ and his team worked tirelessly on our 100 year old house in the U district and did a superb job. They started early and worked full days every day until the job was done. Most notable highlights were the extensive prep work and attention to architectural detail. JJ was determined to do a beautiful job that will last. And his bid on our house was very competitive. I would recommend him to anyone!"

"MDK did a fantastic job! Because building professionals from all fields are extremely busy in Montana during the summer high volume construction months, it's difficult to find specialized contractors. I was able to get three separate proposals but would have had to wait for two months for two of the professionals to get a job started. Tony at MDK really pulled a rabbit out of the hat. Between jobs in Dillon, Butte and Big Sky, Tony put in a week of long days and nights to completely prep, finish, speckle and overcoat my 600 sq ft garage. Because of his work ethic, punctuality and professionalism, I asked him to add a two foot spray guard around the inside perimeter of the garage to match the floor finish. I plan to over-finish the patios and walkways in the future to prevent cracking and expedite snow removal."

Small jobs welcome

"Jeff and his crew at Fullbright Custom Concrete did a great job replacing our front porch and sidewalk. We went with colored stamped concrete that looks like wood. The end result exceeded our expectations. Even though the cost for stamped was double the broomed, the price was still fair, and the stamped option added more value and curb appeal to our home than we spent. We highly recommend Jeff and Fullbright Concrete. They did an excellent job."

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

New flooring costs quite a bit, so longevity is important to think about. Concrete generally has the longest life span, but it’s not always a good solution for homes with wooden subfloors. That said, hardwood floors and stone floors can last up to 100 years, and you can refinish or restore them to remove imperfections from daily wear.

Installation typically takes 2-5 days, including preparation, pouring, and curing time.

While there is a lot to like when it comes to epoxy flooring, there are some disadvantages for you to consider. For one, this flooring gets very slippery when wet, which means that it might not be the best option for homes with young children and older adults. Using an anti-slip coating can help.

Also, the installation period requires a long curing time of several days. Wet epoxy also releases strong smells during this curing period, which requires proper ventilation and safety gear.

To improve the appearance of concrete steps, you can repair any damage, refresh the surface, and add decorative elements. For crumbling, chipping, or broken sections, consider concrete resurfacing or light repair. If the surface is intact but discolored, applying a coat of paint, stain, or concrete sealer can refresh its look; reapplying a sealer every one to two years is recommended for maintenance. For a quick enhancement, you can also add decorative items like potted plants, garden statues, lanterns, or decorative railings to spruce up the area.

Yes, you can seal old or existing concrete, but proper preparation is crucial. The concrete surface must be clean, dry, and free of any incompatible old sealant. To check if an old sealer is present, drip a few drops of water onto the surface; if the water is absorbed in under five minutes, it's ready to be resealed. If you plan to use the same type of sealer that was previously applied, you may not need to remove the old layer. However, if you are using a different type of sealer, the old one must be completely removed. Before applying the new sealer, thoroughly clean the concrete and repair or fill any cracks to ensure a smooth, well-prepared surface.
