"Excellent. Prompt, reliable, reasonably priced, professional, and performed the job as promised. Would recommend to anyone and will be doing future business with them again. Removed a challenging 70 foot tree with minimal disruption to landscaping and nearby trees. Definitely appreciate them being diligent with our yard and utilities."

"These guys were great! Very professional service that went above and beyond what was asked of them. My meeting with Hunter gave me the confidence I needed to hire this company. Pricing was reasonable, and the response time was amazingly fast! My two huge pines were removed quickly, and with no damage done to my, or my neighbor's houses. BJ, and all the guys, really know what they are doing, and were all very friendly and easy to work with. And, the cleanup was outstanding, even in adverse conditions. I highly recommend this company!"

"They arrived when they said they would. They took down one large tree. And trimmed three others. I was surprised they could finish it, in one day. And they did a great job cleaning up leaves and twig debris. I'll use them again, should I need tree service. James E"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Firewood tends to be cheaper during the spring and summer. When the demand for firewood is lower during these seasons, many firewood companies offer lower prices and added discounts. In addition, the supply of firewood is typically higher in these months, meaning the quality is typically higher as well.

Yes, you should trim the lower branches of your maple tree for safety. Trimming maple trees as they grow helps lift the crown and canopy and trains it to grow straight up. A good rule of thumb is to prune enough branches to leave 6 feet of clearance under the tree.

Often, it’s the homeowner’s responsibility to handle the aftermath when a neighbor’s tree falls on their property. But if a tree has been obviously dead for a significant period of time and caused damage when it fell, a case can be made that the owner should have removed it, especially if the neighbor wrote you a letter about the tree or asked you to take it down. This can be grounds for a successful lawsuit in claims court and is a good reason to always pay attention to your trees and remove dead trees before they fall.

Tree pruning is a common and helpful tree maintenance technique that involves carefully cutting and trimming unwanted branches so that the tree can continue to grow and thrive. Pruning is done carefully and intentionally. Tree topping is a frowned-upon method that involves removing and cutting most or the entirety of the top of the tree, including structurally important branches.

The best way to protect tree roots is to avoid the roots entirely by excavating outside the root radius of the tree. For nearby projects, it’s a good idea to construct a temporary retaining wall. But that’s not always possible, depending on the project and the root system. In these cases, consider using alternative equipment like an auger to tunnel under the ground.

Remember, tree roots can damage nearby cement foundations as they grow. If a tree is close enough to interfere with large excavations, it may be better to remove the tree than risk future problems.
