"Septic tank began overflowing due to main pump not working. Pump had been replaced by home owner prior to sale. Had questioned the operation shortly after moving in as it did not seem to perform as I thought it should. Found ABC on a Friday afternoon after finding the side yard flooded. They had a crew working nearby that stoped what they were doing and got here in a few minutes. They diagnosed the problem and had it working quickly. They then had to pump the excess out. Has been working great since."

While store-bought septic enzymes and chemicals are available, many additives are unnecessary and may even harm your system. The most effective way to maintain a healthy bacterial balance is to avoid using chemical drain cleaners, which can kill the beneficial bacteria in your tank.

It is not normal to smell your septic outside and indicates a problem such as an unsealed manhole or access lid, a clogged septic line, a faulty vent stack, or the need for a septic tank pumping. If sewage is leaking from your septic system, it can be hazardous to you, your family, pets, and the surrounding environment.
