"Marcos provided a very competitive quote compared to other tree service businesses I looked at. His crew was on time, professional, worked fast but did a great job cutting down one tree, trimming several others and grinding down one stump. I have no hesitation recommending M & M Tree Services owned by Marcos (901-496-1735, 901-497-0887) to do all my tree service work,"

"Chop Chop Tree Service did a great job trimming two trees in our front yard so we could have more sunlight for the lawn. The lead supervisor, Israel, was easy to work with and very knowledgeable and professional in helping us complete the project. The price quote was also very reasonable. We highly recommend this company and, in fact, we will be using their lawn service for our next project to install new sod."

"Gilberto gave me an estimate, I accepted, and he was done in 15 minutes! And it's a beautiful job. I thought there would be wood chips all over, but no, it's great and the grass should grow in very nicely now. I'd give him a 10 if I could."

"Mr. Harrison is a very knowledgeable arborist. His team is exceptional. 100% satisfied with all their work and will not hesitate to recommend them to others....this is the third "tree service" I have used in the past 15 years and is by far the best."

"When I called Safari, they helped explain what was suddenly causing the issue and what the specific service they had would do to fix the problem. They were very courteous, patient as I asked questions, came to their appointment on time and were well worth the money paid. It was less than $100 to spray 10 - 15 trees."

"The trees at our rental house were in dire need of being trimmed back before they caused any damage to the new roof. The contractor we were working with on the roof suggested I call Vasquez Tree Service and we couldn't be happier with the results. I called the company and left a message inquiring about an estimate. Eddy Vasquez, the owner, and his wife both showed up at our agreed upon time for the estimate. Eddy speaks limited English, so his wife translates for him. They were both very nice and answered all the questions I had. He gave me an estimate on the spot and worked with me on the price until we agreed on a price that was lower than the other three estimates I received. Eddy and his crew started on the trees the next week and all work was completed within a day and a half. When I met Eddy's wife at the house to pay her for their services, we walked around the property and she made sure everything was to my liking. My experience with Vasquez Tree Service was wonderful and I can't recommend them enough. Should we ever need their services again, we will most definitely call them.

"Excellent work! My yard had 3 large and numerous medium sized trees that had not been serviced in several years. Sean discussed with me the work to be done and advised a disease issue in my large Oak, that I was not aware. The work (pruning and branch removal) was done promptly and professionally with removal of all cuttings. He even did a few extra removals of dead bushes that was not in the bid. I am very happy with the results and with the excellent communication with Sean through out the process."

Small jobs welcome

"I hired Diaz Tree Care Service twice abd have been very pleased. The arrive on time and they work quickly and efficiently. Also, Diaz Tree Care Service does a complete job: They remove limbs and branches. Then they remove tge truck and grind up the root. In addition, Diaz Tree Care Service cleans the yard and hauls off all the debris. Most importantly, the cost is reasonable according to the size of the tree, it's location, and the difficulty in its removal. I highly recommend Diaz Tree Care Service because they are a skilled professional tree removal service. They also have the right equipment to do the job. I give them five stars."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Trimming a tree can take anywhere from just two hours to a full day, depending on the age of the tree, the number of trees, and the species. Young trees are generally easier to trim, as their branches are often thinner in diameter and easier to reach compared to mature trees. They also tend to be healthier. If you haven’t trimmed your trees before or it’s been a while, the process could take even longer.

The best tools for tree removal include a chainsaw for large trees, an ax for notching and cutting down small trees, and a wedge to help control the direction a tree falls in. A hatchet can be useful for very small trees, but won’t be effective for medium to large trees.

The best way is to start controlling tree height long before it grows too large, via careful pruning through the years. But that’s not always possible. If a tree has become too high or too large, use selective pruning to remove the most troublesome branches, one by one, without topping the tree. Gently shaping a tree like this can, over time, correct problems. You can also find growth inhibitors to spray on a tree to stop it from growing too rapidly, but use these sparingly if at all.

Yes, pruning makes trees stronger because it fosters proper growth, weight distribution, and balance of the crown. By increasing the structural integrity of the tree through pruning, it’s less likely to experience disease, pests, broken limbs, and storm damage. Pruning the right branches and limbs is key to improving a tree’s strength and balance.

Absolutely. These steps are significantly easier, too, especially when it comes to preserving the root ball and moving the palm tree. However, you will want to make sure the tree has plenty of fertilizer to establish itself and start growing. Supports may also be more important, as it can take extra time for a potted palm to spread out its roots. If you are transferring a palm to another pot, you’ll want to move up a size or two to a larger pot. Make sure the pot has excellent drainage to keep the palm from getting waterlogged.
