"Gary & his crew were very professional & hard working. My husband & I were thoroughly pleased with all of the services he provided. He was willing to pick up the mulch for us, pull our weeds out of 3 flower beds, pulled the weeds from under our river rocks surrounding the gardens, & pulled up some flower bushes that were damaged from the winter. Nice clean up work & he even hauled off the debri! He’s worth every penny! Other lawn services required a minimum job of $1200 or more but we didn’t need that much work done. I highly recommend Gary’s services & would definitely hire him again in the future. Thanks for being awesome Gary!"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

The bottom strand should sit between 12 to 15 inches from the ground. If you have a problem with small critters, you can aim for 8 inches. Three-strand fences should be 16 to 19 inches apart, four-strand fences should be 10 to 12 inches apart, and five-strand fences should be 8 and 10 inches apart.

You can use a few different tactics to prevent your deck gate from sagging. Aside from using strong, rot-resistant woods, introducing a diagonal element—such as a tension rod or solid piece of wood to act as a brace—across the gate will offer better support. You can also use rigid joists to prevent the gate from sagging.

Rust, bent panels, loose posts, and broken welds often require repair.

You can sometimes install a fence over a gas line. Fence installation typically requires a two-foot depth for posts, so if the lines are shallower than two feet, you cannot put a fence post over the line. You’ll need to call 811 to get the gas lines located and marked before you start the project.

Issues include rust, loose posts, and damaged mesh. Regular maintenance prevents significant problems.
