"Gary & his crew were very professional & hard working. My husband & I were thoroughly pleased with all of the services he provided. He was willing to pick up the mulch for us, pull our weeds out of 3 flower beds, pulled the weeds from under our river rocks surrounding the gardens, & pulled up some flower bushes that were damaged from the winter. Nice clean up work & he even hauled off the debri! He’s worth every penny! Other lawn services required a minimum job of $1200 or more but we didn’t need that much work done. I highly recommend Gary’s services & would definitely hire him again in the future. Thanks for being awesome Gary!"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Post depth for shadowbox fences should be at least two feet deep plus an additional foot for every foot of fence height above four feet. For a standard six-foot fence, this means a minimum depth of 3 feet. This depth helps to protect the structural integrity of your fence in the face of wind, soil movement, and seasonal ground shifts

Electric fences use very little energy and shouldn’t cause any surprises on your next energy bill; You may only notice an extra couple of dollars on the bill. While electric fences don’t consume much energy, they still need it. If you have a power outage after a storm, your electric fence will likely stop working.

In most cases, a fence can only be built on your property with your consent. Not obtaining permission constitutes an encroachment and a violation of your property rights. However, exceptions may apply, such as when the fence is entirely within the property boundaries of the person putting it up and the fence complies with local zoning laws and regulations. If you think a fence infringes on your property or is not up to local standards, consult with local authorities or legal experts to address the issue and protect your property rights.

If you’re trying to keep your dog from running away, an electric fence isn’t the only fence type for your yard worth considering. The cost of dog fences can range from $1,500 to $8,000, with popular materials including wood, vinyl, or aluminum to keep your pet safe and sound.

If you’re trying to keep livestock in their pasture, other fencing options include woven wire, high-tensile wire, and synthetic fencing. These options give your animals boundaries without the use of electricity.

Regular lawn care keeps snakes away because it eliminates common hiding places. You can deter snakes by trimming grass, shrubs, and trees and removing weeds from your lawn and gardens. Clear away leaves and other debris that could serve as a potential snake habitat. You can also seal entry points around building perimeters and install metal snake fencing.
