"I had a sprinkler line that was broken when our fence was being installed. While trying to repair it myself, I accidentally cut into the main line that was next to the other line. HomeAdvisor contacted Lamar who called me within less than 30 minutes. He was able to come out the afternoon of the same day and fixed both of the cut sprinkler lines as well as the wiring that had been damaged by the fence company in about an hour. He was very friendly and professional, and he even took the time to locate the shut off valve for the system (which I was unaware of--it was covered by grass) and answered several questions I had regarding the system and preparing for winter. I will definitely call Lamar with any future issues I have with my sprinkler system. I highly recommend him!"

"Matthew Bailey came out and added an irrigation zone. His bid was in line with my budget. He plans on returning to repair the section of lawn with sod at no cost to me. I highly recommend him. He also listened to me which was extremely important."

"He was very good in installing the sprinkler system in June 2021. He had to install it during the week it was raining but he continued until it was installed. I would highly recommend him to install an irrigation system for you at a reasonable price."

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

While it may seem easier and faster to throw grass seed onto dirt and call it a day, that method likely won’t yield great results. Preparing your lawn for reseeding or seeding by clearing rocks and debris, aerating, removing existing grass, or leveling it. You should also plan out the best time to plant your grass based on its type and your location to ensure it grows well. So, if you want your grass to grow successfully, put more time and effort into the project than throwing seed on the ground.

Yes, but the best approach is to apply fertilizer well before you actually sprinkle the seeds. Apply fertilizer with an NPK ratio somewhere around 10-10-20, or 10-10-10, depending on soil test results and the type of grass you're planting, about six to eight weeks before planting grass seed. This mix added to loosened soil will give the grass seed its best chance of getting off to a solid start.

Seeding fills bare spots, improves lawn density, and enhances overall appearance and health.

Instant greenery, erosion control, and no waiting for germination make sod a preferable choice.

In general, cool-season grasses such as fescue grass, ryegrass, and Kentucky bluegrass are best for creating a striped lawn. Warm-season grasses like bermuda and zoysia grass don't curl as much, so grass stripes aren't as easy to see. If you live in a climate that’s better suited for warm-season grass, zoysia grass will typically be your best option.
