For over 25 years Chris Hooper's company has been providing it's customers with professional, quality service. You can trust us with all of your construction needs. We are licensed and insured, participate in continuing education each year to better serve our customers, and require that all of our sub-contractors be licensed and insured to protect you and your home. Chris Hooper founded Hooper Construction in 1986. Hooper Construction was dissolved and Chris incorporated under the name Hooper KC Inc in 2017...different name, but the same great service and quality work! His first trade as a drywall finisher helped develop and eye for detail that has been the bedrock of the company. The company services have expanded from drywall, to basement finishing, to room additions, and even to custom home construction. From a simple bathroom remodel in Prairie Village to a custom linear fireplace on the Plaza, through the years we have had the pleasure of working with the best customers and making their project dreams a reality!

Pristine Decks and Construction, LLC is able to offer exceptional quality in craftsmanship and materials that our clients have come to expect. We use our own skilled carpenters who are committed to providing our clients with superior products and personal service. Whether considering a new structure to add to your existing home or sprucing up your aging deck or porch, we would be glad to meet with you to discuss the possibilities. We design and build each and every project to be a personal masterpiece. Your design will be based on your outdoor living aspirations, lifestyle, personal taste, and budget.

"Project started in July of 2021. Was still unfinished as of June 2022 so discontinued agreement. Would not show up for weeks at a time with no notice. Did not purchase materials requested. Installed or applied with no input as to homeowner acceptability. Detail work poor. Wall placement did not leave sufficient spacing for bathroom fixtures and doors. Door frames rough and doors hard to close. Interior painting sloppy around crown molding, baseboards and door frames. Tore sheet rock off walls when removing cardboard and painters tape covering installed bookshelves, cabinets. Finishes left rough and painted over. Requested additional funds during construction for materials. Upon receipt would be gone for weeks to work on other projects. Tore out concrete pad under deck last summer with no attempt to complete with pavers as requested. As of June 2022 the wet bar, exterior doors, light fixtures, bathroom vanity, shower, toilet, ceiling underneath deck and outdoor ceiling fan had either not been installed or completed for use. Last day at house took tools but left trash."

Outdoor Kitchens questions, answered by experts

You can call a second kitchen many different names—butler’s pantry, scullery, prep kitchen, working kitchen, dirty kitchen, or even just second kitchen. In modern times, however, second kitchens are almost always called prep kitchens or small kitchens. However, the purpose of a second kitchen remains the same—prepare food and clean items “behind closed doors.”

No, even if you have a vague idea of what you want, it’s a good idea to reach out to a contractor that specializes in outdoor kitchens for assistance. Professionals who have constructed kitchens for other homeowners can not only help you think about the functionality and convenience of your outdoor space—which many homeowners neglect—but they can also help you choose high-quality, durable materials that meet your budget and match the rest of your outdoor space. In fact, it’s often better to contact a contractor and get the ball rolling before you have a solidified plan for your outdoor kitchen.

The average cost of an outdoor kitchen is around $15,500. However, since outdoor kitchens are highly customizable, you could spend anywhere from $5,000 to over $50,000 for your setup. Some important factors that can affect your pricing include the size of the kitchen, the materials you use—specifically for the countertop—the type of grill you want, and any add-on products you want coupled with your installation.

The difference between a built-in and regular grill is installation and design. A built-in grill is integrated into an outdoor kitchen or structure, often within a countertop or island. It is a permanent fixture. A regular grill is standalone, portable, or cart-mounted, allowing mobility and versatility in placement. Built-in grills are typically larger with more cooking space, while regular grills come in various sizes. Built-in grills are favored for creating a custom outdoor cooking area, while regular grills provide convenience and flexibility.

Whether or not it’s cheaper to build a pizza oven depends largely on what style you opt for and which tools and materials you already have. For example, having a surplus of leftover fire bricks from another DIY project will reduce the amount you need to build a new pizza oven and cut costs to boot. On the flip side, if you don’t have any of the required materials, buying a pre-made option will be cheaper and require far less work to set up—between just $300 and $1,000 for the best versions.
