"During the latest round of severe weather, I had a large tree fall on both my roof and the neighbor's garage. While majority of the damage was to the roof surface, there was some structural damage to trusses in both my home, and the neighbor's garage, as well as a misalignment of the neighbor's garage door. Strawn/S.C. Craftmanship came to the job site with years of experience in roofing and home repair under his belt, and did a very diligent job to survey the damage quickly, provide an accurate materials list, and a plan of action. As with many repairs of this nature, as we worked, we found that more underlying damages existed beyond what was visible from the surface - Strawn handled these challenges with ease, and worked to effectively explain each issue, possible remedies, and his professional opinion thoroughly, and worked to find solutions to each that fit both my window of time and my budget for this project. Strawn was punctual, very fair, and held a strong positive attitude and professional demeanor throughout the project. All repairs were completed on time, on budget, and both to the satisfaction of myself and my neighbor. All in all, working with Strawn and S.C. Craftsmanship turned a very unfortunate event into a beneficial experience - Working with him was a blessing, and I would not hesitate to hire him again should the need arise!"
As we tore off the old shingles, we discovered the old decking, a lot of which needed replaced.

Starting our new ice and water barrier in the low pitched area
This shows how we half lapped our ice and water barrier which insures the ice dams won’t leak in the future!
We also nailed the shingles on at a low exposure to provide an extra 1-1/2 inches of coverage over our nails

Nest Installation questions, answered by experts

If you’re dealing with a bee colony on your property, you might wonder if they’ll leave naturally over time. The answer depends on their circumstances. Bees often relocate if the hive becomes overcrowded, food is scarce, or they face a threat. With that said, if a hive’s location is safe, warm, and with plentiful food sources, they are unlikely to relocate on their own, and the hive may persist for many generations.

Squirrels are pretty skittish creatures, and they dread the presence of rodent-chasing dogs and cats. Sudden noises and bursts of activity can send them scampering away. Anything with an element of surprise, like motion-detecting lighting, strobe lights, and noisy wind chimes, can unsettle them. Even loud radios and voices can be perceived as threatening and terrifying to these furry critters.

Bed bugs typically will not go away on their own. If there are no humans or animals around, they will need to leave to find a host for feeding. But otherwise, bed bugs can live for several months to a year, and the adult females can lay hundreds more eggs in their lifetime. An infestation is only likely to get worse without hiring an exterminator.

Fleas are leaps and bounds ahead of ticks when jumping from person to person. The average flea can cover 1.9 meters per second. It can also jump over 50 times its own height. Fleas rely solely on their magnificent leaps to jump hosts. While ticks can crawl relatively quickly, their strategy is usually to sit and wait for a victim to "hitchhike" in tall grass.

Not likely. While the occasional spotted lanternfly insect may find its way in, it’s highly unlikely that spotted lanternflies will lay eggs and eventually infest your home because they prefer to live outdoors. If you’re concerned about the bugs getting inside, be sure to examine all humans, objects, and pets before bringing them indoors.
