When you take a hot shower or bath, the steam dissipates into the air and increases the temperature of your bathroom. Not every bathroom needs an exhaust fan. If you have a window in the bathroom, you can get many of the same benefits by opening the window. (multiply by 1.2 for a steep roof and 1.15 for a dark roof). That number is the CFM required for your fan to run efficiently.
