All the work was completed to my satisfaction. He mentioned that he placed the right door handle backward but I didn't think it was worthwhile to place it correctly was the shed was just for my ducks.
At the end of the day, he cleaned up after himself.
"That wasn't my company."
Frank assisted with measuring the faucets and helping explain what I needed to order. He replaced my faucets. He returned to address a leak, which was due to a previous installation issue, completed by the previous contractor I used. Frank was punctual, professional and charged a fair price. There were no surprises, no additional work that needed to be done which he discovered, during the installation.
As always, Frank treated my house as his own, and cleaned up after the job as well.
- House renovation ? in 2013-2014 Frank completed a renovation of my house - see below, including rip out old carpet, install hard wood floors in entire house, install floor board, painting, demolition of wall, build counter, etc.
- Flooring - Frank installed hard wood flooring in my entire ranch house. Frank discussed various flooring patterns with me, and took the time to draw it out so I would understand what I would be getting. He attended to all details.
- Stain wood / installation - During this project Frank also stained and installed the floor board. He has a good eye for color and was able to find a complementary color for the floor board. He also worked well with the contractors that did my stairs. Frank sanded and stained all the wood for the stair work.
- Demolition/ New Design - Frank tore down part of a wall between my kitchen and my dining room. This opened up the entire house. During this project Frank not only completed demolition, he built up a good a counter on the remaining half wall, with granite tiles and wood stained to match the rest of my kitchen. Frank has a good eye for balance and attention to detail. The new counter has angle and corners, which Frank took the time to cut right, line up, and make it look perfect.
- Painting/Patching - During this project Frank also patched and repainted my entire house, touched up framing and other wood work and made my house look brand new!
- Installation - installed brand new lighting fixtures, installed a California closet, installed wood vents in the floor,- Installation of new dishwasher
- Fixing rusty fire place
- House Energy Efficiency ? Frank has completed basement and vent work to ensure that my house is tight and running efficiently.
- Works well with others ? During my large house renovation Frank work with various other contractors. He was able to coordinate with them regarding timing of the project as well as on-site hours. Additionally Frank brought other people to my house to assist with various work. All of the men that work with Frank are professional and courteous. Frank oversees their work to make sure it meets his standards.
- Skylights - I have skylights that seem to be a never ending source of issue. Frank has completed research, met with paint store folks, and talked to others to work to find solutions to my various skylight issues.
- ?Honey-do? list - No job is too small for Frank, including, assemble chairs, assemble and place book cases and racks, moving furniture, fixing appliances (dishwasher, wash machine, oven), removing dead bats from outside vent, checking roof, cleaning gutters, cutting down dead tree limbs, painting shutters and vents, power washing siding, various garage door fixes, etc.
for me on a number of projects for both my farm and home since 2010. Rather
than listing all the projects he has done for me, ranging from tidbits like
handyman work to fixing electrical issues, plumbing issues, leaky roofs to
building fences, goat feeders, etc) I will concentrate on a project I was
particularly pleased with: the retiling of my studio floor.
With this past year’s harsh winter, the water pipe in my
studio wall ruptured, leading to a massive flood on the tiled floor. I called him and he responded quickly
suggesting of ways to minimize the potential mold buildup underneath the wet
tiles. He recommended a tile shop (which I was extremely pleased with the
customer service and choice of tiles available). He and his worker Mark came
precisely on time and removed the old tiles. The project was somewhat
challenging as there was a former drain in the floor where the slanting grade
allowed for drainage. But he met the challenge and the floor was unbelievably
level when he was done. As usual, he
asked me at several stages of the project how I liked it and things worked out
perfectly. All the tiles were perfectly laid, the grout is even and he even
added a surprise and frac14; round trim near my cabinet base! As with previous projects, he called me after
it was done and asked for how I liked it before he even asked for his check.
I could just stop here with this review but there is more to
Frank Danna than meets the eye. I think
he is by far one of the best handyman/contractors you can hire from Angie’s
list. What sets him apart from the rest is that he really looks out for you.
Not only does he complete any project with a professional approach and
perfection but he also makes great suggestions for how to improve your home.
For example, he made me aware of a mini split system for my show rabbit room.
These are long haired rabbits that require A/C in the heat on the summer. I had
another Angie listed A/C person come to propose an A/C with the standard vent
and conduit system and asking for $7000. The mini-split system Frank suggested
only cost $3000 AND it was installed by someone else! The best kept secret is that if things work
out well with him, he will put you on his exclusive customers list for all
issues that may come up in the future with your home. Given his long wait list of 4-6 weeks, this
exclusivity has its appeal for those emergencies that arise when you are a
homeowner.
