"Wow! My friend recommended Brandt's Lawn Care to me so I gave them a call. I already had spoken with two other companies, but I decided to give these guys a call anyway. I'm so glad I did. They were quick to come over and give me an estimate. When I met them, they were super nice and very knowledgeable Arborists. He gave me a quote on the spot and was able to schedule me within days! This is not how it went with the other two companies. When they arrived, they were very careful around my landscaping and stopped cutting for my wife to walk in and out of the house for lunch. These guys communicated well and frankly, did a better job than I was anticipating. In fact, my neighbors have already commented on their work and one of them hired them to do work for them. These guys are true professionals and a step above the rest. Anyone that is familiar with the Lake of the Ozark region, knows how hard it is to hire someone and then actually get quality and timely work done from them. Brandt's Lawn Car is amazing! This was truly the best encounter I have had since living here. I've served in the Army for over 20 years and have owned a number of properties that needed tree work completed. These guys are the best I've seen. Call them. I guarantee you will be happy you did. Ralph Haney"

"My tree was trimmed off the roof of my house the way I wanted , I had an added request of trimming limbs off my fence on the same tree and he took care of those while he was there as well. The brush and leaves were cleaned and raked, my yard looked the way it did before he got there. I would definitely use this tree service again and recommend to all friends."

"This Tree Service Company was excellent to deal with from the very start. Tyler contacted us and was very friendly and professional. We had a tree that had a big limb blow down during the recent storm. They were very careful to not damage a wooden fence and also were very careful about saving a flower garden surrounding the tree. They were very careful in bringing there equipment and did not damage our yard. While here they also trimmed another tree for a reasonable charge. They were very carefully in taking down branches close to our roof. the entire staff was friendly and thoughtful in how they did their work. They cleaned up the area thoroughly. I have already recommended B&B Tree Service to some of my friends. Great company who did an excellent job for us. Sincerely Chuck & Cheryl Johnson"

"Hired B&B to cutup and remove a large tree that fell over in a storm. It was a difficult job because of being on a hill side. The crew did a great job. Would definitely recommend B&B."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Many species, especially when well-established, are not fans of transplantation. You’ll need to decide if you want to risk splashing the cash, understanding that transplantation isn’t always successful. Again, this is where hiring a pro is helpful, as they can give you all the essential info you need to ensure your tree stands a fighting chance.

Whether tree roots will continue to grow after a tree has been cut down depends on the species. Some tree roots will eventually die because they can no longer get nutrients through photosynthesis. However, other species that reproduce through root sprouts can continue to grow and produce new sprouts for seven years or more. For example, the roots of elms, ficus, and willows tend to regrow aggressively, while the roots of pines, oaks, and maples will typically die. To determine if a root system is still active, look for new sprouts on the old trunk, stump, or any exposed roots.

While it’s best to have access to large, healthy, strong trees in a safe position, treehouse living is still possible without them. Contractors can fit tree posts to build the structure onto or use posts as additional support alongside the trees themselves. If you’re in doubt about the suitability of the trees on your land, consult with a local treehouse builder before you start the project.

You can use herbicides to prevent roots from growing without killing the tree itself, however they must be used with caution. Systemic herbicides are absorbed by the root and can kill off problematic roots. However, herbicides can sometimes negatively impact nearby plants, so the solution is best used sparingly.

The best time to cut down a tree is during its dormant season, typically in winter or early spring, after all the leaves have fallen. Removing a tree during this period is advantageous for several reasons. Frozen ground helps secure the tree stump, protects the surrounding landscape from damage, and reduces the risk of the tree falling in an unintended direction. With the leaves gone, there is less risk of the tree's foliage getting tangled with other trees. Additionally, since this is often a slower season for tree services, you may be able to hire a professional at a lower rate. This dormant period is also the best time for tree trimming.
