"Sam did a major overhaul on an outbuilding at our new shop in Union, MO to turn it into and office. New roof, flooring, repaired lots of water damage, paint, and cleanup. The work was done in a timely manner. Pricing was reasonable. They stayed within budget and let me add on a couple things. 😁"

"Tom did a great job of fixing a problem from the local hardware store and their installer. He worked tirelessly and used great craftsmanship to fix our problem with our stairs and flooring. I would recommend him to anybody looking to get some work done at their place."

First off, the salesman Russell was great.  Very knowledgeable and informed on all aspects of what he was doing.  I explained his was the first of three bids I was planning to get and he didn't get pushy.  He did still try to close the sale on our first meeting but that's his job.  He was also easy to contact and prompt to return calls.  After talking to him for a while you start to wonder why in the world is this guy selling windows?! (Not knocking window salesmen)  An interesting guy and a big part of the reason I chose Window World.

Next, the windows.  I'm not a home improvement type person, but they seem to me to be very good quality for the price and are a huge improvement over the old 1970's era wooden single pane windows I had.  I could immediately tell a huge difference in how they keep the wind and cold out.  Several of my friends in the construction industry were very impressed with the build and quality when I showed them.  Time will tell further, but based on what I see, and lots of research, they are a huge step above basic builder grade quality.

Last, the installation.  The windows arrived ahead of plan and installation was scheduled quick and easy.  They guys called when they were on the way and arrived on time.  Overall everything went well.  I did ask them to re caulk one of the windows as the bead was pretty ugly and got dirt in it.  They took care of it right away.  I later noticed one of the screens had a tear in it and they came back promptly and took care of it.  Based on my experience, I expect to get good service in the future if needed.

A few small problems.  One of the installers was standing on my front porch smoking.  I believe you should ask the customer first if that's OK.  I did politely ask him not to smoke.  I guess I should have also asked him not to leave cigarette butts in my driveway. When they took the windows off the truck, a bunch of broken glass fell off and was left on my driveway.  Per their paperwork, a normal amount of post construction clean up is the customer's responsibility but broken glass covering the width of my driveway is beyond normal post construction clean up.   I didn't notice that until a few hours later so I just cleaned it up myself but I did contact the project manager and let him know about those issues.  Another thing, as noted on their paperwork, they are not responsible for damage to shrubs or landscaping.   I pointed out a particular shrub to the installer and they said no problem, they could work around it, but it was stepped on and destroyed.

As I stated though, I consider these to be small problems and will be purchasing more windows from Window World in the future and would recommend them.

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

New homeowners in Rolla should first check all window screens for winter damage and ensure a tight fit to prevent insect entry. Prioritize repairing or replacing porch screens if you plan to use outdoor spaces in spring and summer. Consider pet-resistant or solar screens for high-traffic areas. Regular cleaning and prompt repairs help extend the life of your screens in Rolla’s variable climate.

Helpful?

Rolla’s humid summers, frequent storms, and freeze-thaw cycles can weaken window and porch screens. Heavy rainfall and wind require secure, weather-resistant materials, while intense summer sun can cause fading or brittleness. Seasonal pollen and falling leaves add extra wear. In hilly neighborhoods, microclimates sometimes mean screens on one side of the home wear out faster, so regular inspection is key.

Helpful?

Screen repair in Rolla can enhance your home’s value and curb appeal, especially for buyers seeking energy efficiency and reliable insect control. Upgraded porch screens and durable window screens are attractive features, particularly given Missouri’s rural pests and changing weather. Well-maintained screens signal proper upkeep, making your property more appealing to buyers looking for low-maintenance outdoor living spaces.

Helpful?

Homes in Rolla with older window screens, south-facing exposures, or proximity to wooded lots often benefit from screen repair. If you notice increased insect activity indoors or visible sagging on porch screens, repairs are likely needed. Properties near agricultural areas or with large patios may require specialty insect control screens to handle local pollen and dust, making repairs especially worthwhile.

Helpful?

In Rolla, habits like letting pets lean or scratch at repaired screens, using window screens as handles, or leaving porch screens unsecured during spring storms can cause premature damage. Power washing screens or allowing pollen and debris to build up—especially after gusty Ozark winds—weakens them over time. Overlooking minor tears or failing to remove screens before harsh winters can also reduce their durability.
