"The Honey Do Crew did an excellent job installing my interior barn door. They also built and installed a custom rustic header that fits the space perfectly and really enhances the overall look of the room. The work was clean, professional, and well done, and they even took the time to share helpful maintenance tips on caring for the hardware and wood so everything stays in great shape. I’m very happy with the final result and highly recommend The Honey Do Crew for quality craftsmanship and attention to detail."

"We were looking at repainting 2 bedrooms when we bought our home. The estimate was worked up after seeing the rooms and talking to us about what we were wanting. The estimate involved different colors to meet what we were wanting and after reviewing the colors, we found exactly what we had wanted. They began by painting a small area and talking with us to make sure it was what we had wanted and it most certainly was. They finished the first room in two days, completing trim and paint work and the second room, which was smaller, in one day. We are extremely satisfied, they are pleasant to talk to, pay very close attention to detail and work diligently to make sure what they offer is what you want. We will call them again for any work that we need done to our home, I certainly recommend these guys 100%!"

"Chad and son were very professional and worked hard even though the rain was persistent at times. And they didn’t slow down even in 90 degree temps. I would highly recommend them and Will give them future painting projects."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Drywall can be toxic to the environment and to humans in some cases. As drywall breaks down in a landfill and comes in contact with other organic chemicals, it can create hydrogen sulfide gas or leach into the groundwater. Additionally, the CDC recommends methods for controlling the inhalation of drywall dust when handled. While the common ingredients of drywall—gypsum, silica, and mica—are naturally occurring, they can cause irritation in some humans.

Plaster can be a difficult DIY to master, especially if you plan to plaster an entire room, rather than patch a small area. Before you begin a plaster DIY project, you need to know which tools and type of plaster to use. It's also important to know how to prepare the surface and apply the plaster for a smooth finish. If that all sounds like a lot of work, you may prefer hiring a local plaster repair contractor to do the job.

The tool you use to sand plaster will depend on the size of the project. If you’re just working on a small section of your wall to get rid of an uneven spot on the surface, hand-sanding might work. However, for larger projects, a drywall sander can make a huge difference when it comes to both time and elbow grease—and an orbital sander can help for detailed areas such as around ceiling fans.

Costs depend on damage extent of damage, labor, finishing, and whether mold remediation is needed.

Whether you need a drywall anchor depends on the specifics of your project, particularly what you're hanging and where. You do not need a drywall anchor if you can screw or nail the object directly into a wooden stud, as the wood provides sufficient support and stability. However, if there are no studs in the location where you plan to hang the item, you should use drywall anchors to ensure it is securely supported. For very lightweight objects, like small pictures, adhesive picture hanging strips can be a suitable alternative to anchors.
