"To be truthful i was very skeptical hiring anyone to put on a new deck because of all the horror stories you hear of contractors taking your deposit and never returning to finish the job. BUTâ ¦ meeting with Jacob Quick made it all very easy. I met with Jacob many times because of my apprehension and having issues with making decisions. After signing a contract, Jacob kept in contact with me on starting date, permit issues, when materials would be delivered, and if there was inclement weather conditions that they could not work that day. From the start of teardown to the finished project, they were there every day at 7:30, making sure that time was ok with me. They had a crew of 4-5 people working all day. When an issue came up, they were up front and we discussed it. I felt very relieved that all the guys were very knowledgeable and experienced. I am picky when it comes to details and the entire crew were all very concerned about the littlest details. Brian was also great at answering my questions as the deck was being built. They wanted me to be highly satisfied and i surely was. "Seth Rogers is an artist, much more than a woodworker. He came to our house in the midst of a blackout(yes, we were ground zero for the latest St. Louis tornadoes). No power at our house was unable to deter Seth from getting the job done. He arrived promptly, even with the traffic woes, and fired up his pappy’s generator and got going. We feel so lucky to have found an artist who will uphold the age and design of our home. So much so, that we have already hired Seth for another job. Unfortunately, there began to be recurring issues with schedule management and timely communication, which negatively impacted my projects. A miscommunication ultimately led to offense being taken, and he abruptly discontinued work via text without notice to my surprise. Disappointed though I am, I?m thankful for the work he was able to do and wish him all the best as I start the process again to secure another handyman for my remaining items and to have on hand for regular maintenance in the long term.
