They used all the appropriate safety equipment, and removed several large limbs in segments so that the falling debris did not damage the lawn. Some residential areas are under regulations from local governments, and cities may want to control what trees are planted or cut down to influence appearance, prevent invasive species, and more. The same permitting rules apply for homeowners associations. Check with your local government and homeowners association to determine whether you need a permit for this task.

Unless it’s dead or dangerous, think twice about cutting down a tree in your yard. They’re good for health, well-being, wildlife, and the environment. Plus, local authorities often have regulations prohibiting the removal of trees, especially protected species or individual trees with historical value.
