"Crew arrived on time; foreman asked me to show him exactly what I wanted replaced, redone and repaired and done. Showed him where everything was, old siding, new door, where to make the opening for the new door, and where the places where that needed replacement siding. They got to work in a timely fashion and if there was any question, the foreman came to me and asked to make sure they were doing what I wanted done. Crew stayed all day to get the job done. The foreman returned the next day to fix 2 replacement spot, they had not gotten to on the previous day. Did a great job, looks great and the foreman was adamant that I was satisfied that they had done everything that I had asked to be done.  The siding looks great and so does the new door. Good work."

"They came out and gave us a quote last fall, then we did the roof this spring. They added a ridge vent. Overall, I found them excellent to work with. They delivered documentation for our "5 Star Certainteed Warrenty" as promised. They seemed much more straight forward/honest than some of the other quotes I got. I would recommend getting a quote from them if you are replacing a roof"

"What an amazing job! The wonderful folks of Coldstream did an amazing job on my flat room. My roof was very old an in need of a lot of repair. Brian was extremely helpful in coming out, and taking great estimates of what it would take to protect my house. Flat roofs are not as common these days so Brian even had his top notch roofer come out and give his opinion as well. I had the whole roof replaced at a great price! The roof looks amazing. Brian’s communication throughout the entire deal was awesome. And they did everything in a very fast manor, it only took them a few days. All before winter just as requested. The crew was very nice, and even cleaned off my back patio of all the leaves that were there. 10/10 would use Coldstream Exterior again."

"My husband and I hired the Jones Home Improvements company to replace the siding, gutters and gutter guards on our home. The price was reasonable, their staff, from sales, office staff to work crews that worked are our home were outstanding. The project was completed ahead of schedule and the work was well done. The siding looks great and is of high quality. We definitely recommend this company."

Siding questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can install siding over stucco, but it's crucial to ensure the stucco is in good condition first. Before proceeding, inspect the stucco for any signs of damage, leaks, or mold growth. If you discover water damage, mold, or have ongoing leak issues, it's recommended to remove the stucco completely. This step prevents future problems like mold and pest infestations and allows a professional to repair or replace any damaged sheathing underneath. If the stucco is sound, the installation process involves attaching furring strips to the wall's framing directly through the stucco. The new siding is then installed onto these furring strips. A professional may also need to adjust window and door openings to prevent them from being recessed behind the new siding, which can cause aesthetic issues and create potential leak points.

Caulking should be re-applied roughly every five years. It's natural for a home to settle and separate caulking from joints, so it's a good idea to assess the home every two years. A consistent siding maintenance schedule will help you see if the caulking is needed and address any potential issues before they occur.

If you’re wondering how to make wood siding last longer, including Composite T1-11, inspect it annually or quarterly to spot and repair cracks, holes, or chipped areas. You’ll also want to re-stain the wood every 3 to 5  years or repaint every 7 to 10 years for protection (note that repainting requires stripping and sanding off old paint as well). Lastly, keep up with regular cleanings using a garden hose or low-pressure power washer to help prevent grime and discoloration.

Wood siding requires an air gap behind it to allow water to drain out, and for air circulation and venting to allow humid air to escape and keep the material from rotting due to moisture.

New siding improves curb appeal, insulation, and protection from moisture and pests.
