"Leon and his team are the hardest working crew in landscaping. We asked for a redo of our front yard including tree removal, ivy removal, new sod, new beds, and general cleanup. And we needed it ASAP which they accomplished far ahead of our requested schedule by making steady progress and then staying 12 hours on one day to complete the task. We're hoping the ivy and honeysuckle will stay down, but we're sure Leon's team will keep it in check."

It is possible to cut down a tree on your property yourself, but we don’t recommend it. If the tree is short enough to easily reach the top branches, and the tree is far from power lines or structures, consider renting a chainsaw and removing it yourself. The felling notch you make before you make the final cut will determine which way the tree will fall. The cut will be in a wedge or triangle, and the tree will fall from the highest point of the triangle. You can use this, as well as the process described above, to estimate where a tree will fall. 

There are many ways to cut through roots when digging, especially if your trencher doesn’t seem to be removing the roots. First, use a shovel to expose the roots. Then, use gardening shears to clear out smaller roots or a reciprocating saw to remove larger plant roots. If you plan on keeping the plant, avoid cutting any roots over 2 inches thick.
