"600sqft slab, 28sqft driveway and small sidewalk. Overall very satisfied with work performed. Good communication, Harmon always answered phone or returned calls. Prompt, after job was started Harmon was on site every day weather permitted work. Cleanup, Harmon did an excellent job keeping site clean and left it in good condition at job end. By far the best price, 25% less expensive than 4 other estimates. End result (in my opinion) is equal or superior to what I would have recieved from other more expensive contractors."

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

Ensures durability and even application, enhancing both appearance and longevity.

To prep a floor for painting, start by sweeping and cleaning any loose debris that could puncture the protective material. Take out as much furniture as possible. Then lay plastic, canvas, rosin paper, or masonite sheets across the room, securing them at the edges with masking tape. Plan your painting so that you minimize the chances you’ll step in and track any splatters.

To properly maintain an epoxy garage floor, regularly sweep up dirt and debris using a broom and dustpan or a vacuum cleaner. Mop with warm water and scrub away stains using a mild cleaning solution that's safe for the epoxy product you have installed. Don't use any soap-based or chemical cleaners, as these can cause the epoxy surface to deteriorate more rapidly.

The concrete that likely already makes up your garage floor is the longest-lasting garage floor material, although you can treat it with a variety of coverings to improve its durability. Epoxy is one of the most popular options, as it’s relatively affordable, adds strength to the floor, helps prevent staining and physical damage, and even improves the resistance to water intrusion. Other popular options for durable floor coverings include rubber, an aspartic coating, and vinyl.

New flooring costs quite a bit, so longevity is important to think about. Concrete generally has the longest life span, but it’s not always a good solution for homes with wooden subfloors. That said, hardwood floors and stone floors can last up to 100 years, and you can refinish or restore them to remove imperfections from daily wear.
