Reiner Electric LLC – Family-owned and deeply rooted in Greater St. Louis for over 15 years, we deliver residential and commercial electrical services with unmatched professionalism and efficiency. Whether it's routine repairs, outlet installs, lighting retrofits, finished basements, kitchen or bathroom rewiring, panel upgrades, surge protection, EV charger setup, we’ve got it covered. We're licensed and insured, offer same-day service when possible, free estimates, and guarantee 100% satisfaction—because our name—and reputation—are on the line every time.

"Rob was very knowledgable, patient, and thorough. My mom is 75 and lives alone, she's been using him for the last decade and told me it's because he's honest and she trusts him. She needed a new receptacle on the front porch for Christmas lights ... done. A subcontractor from a home repair over a decade ago left her with plugs in a wall that did not work ... they do now. A scary electrical arc appearing behind a switch every time it's switched ... no more. With every visit, he takes time to find the problem, test it, solve it, and for a reasonable price. Definitely would recommend for all those with aging parents who want an honest, reliable, efficient, and courteous electrician."

Jeff Mitchell Lighting has built its reputation on successfully installing revolutionary systems using innovative techniques developed by the owner Jeff Mitchell. Since the beginning, Jeff Mitchell Lighting has taken on tasks considered to be impossible and has met the challenges with great success. This value of innovation and excellence is shared by all the company’s employees. One of the most recognized divisions of the business focuses on Christmas lighting. The holiday season is perhaps the busiest time of year for the company with a variety of projects among some of most sought-after areas.

"Jeff Mitchell Lighting was the worst vendor we have ever used for our Home. His team installed lighting and when one existing light fixture went out he tried to charge us over $300.00 to fix when in reality it was just a blub out. $24.00 to replace. I was furious. Then he showed up at 11:13 pm without telling us he was coming "to do us a favor and fix the bulb" Are you joking!! This man ranted and raved uncontrollably when confronted. I had to ask him to leave. Do not use him. Trust me I wish we had not."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Unfortunately, a partial power outage without a tripped breaker often means you have a major wiring issue or that the breaker itself is going bad. When the power is out in one room but the breaker is not tripped, you need to call an electrician as soon as possible to identify the cause of the problem and repair it.

Grounding an electrical outlet can take as little as 30 minutes if you only need to replace the outlet or around two hours if you need to add a ground wire. However, more extensive electrical work will take longer, such as hiring an electrician to ground multiple outlets during the same service.

In most cases, line wires are located at the bottom of a panel or device, while load wires are located at the top. Line wires are generally black, while load wires are typically red or black. To tell for sure, you can use a multimeter or volt pen to test the wire. A live or line wire will always carry a charge, while a load wire will only carry a charge when it’s in use.

Yes, in a new home, ground wires are mandatory. Some older homes may not be grounded, but if you decide to renovate, you will need to have your electricity grounded at that time. Remember, grounding helps keep everyone in your home safe from sudden electrical surges. It’s best to hire an electrician to inspect and work with your home’s wiring.

The professional you’ll need to call to install your attic fan can differ depending on the fan type. For example, a roof-mounted fan is best taken care of by a roofer, while carpenters are a good fit for installing gable vent fans. But in any case, it’s a good idea to call in an electrician if you need new wiring.

If you’re replacing an old fan without any modification to your home or electrical wiring, calling in a handyperson is also an option.
