The crew chief asked me for my opinion when choices about the wiring needed to be made. He worked with me in troubleshooting a dead outlet and light.

It went very well.

Gilmore Electric is my go to for all kinds of services, not just electrical. They are courteous, professional  and do an excellent job. I would never hesitate to recommend this company.

Poor communication in general. Asked for revised estimate no less than 10 times and didn't get it until the work was nearly complete. Then had a heated exchange with Tom Gilmore Jr. over the phone because my invoice wasn't paid within — literally — 72 hours of the work being completed. Pretty unpleasant, unreasonable and unprofessional. And...the work wasn't actually completed. They had to come back the next day. Tom did send his guys out promptly to finish the job (and collect his check), which was appreciated. Much of the miscommunication was caused by our and quot;general contractorand quot; who actually hired Gilmore Electric. Still...I don't appreciate being yelled at by anyone.
Now I'm dealing with Tom Gilmore Sr. (the owner of the company) for an event in St. Louis Hills. To say the man is mean and juvenile is a gross understatement. More yelling. Calling neighbors complaining, but refusing to actually discuss the matter with the people planning the event. Apparently he's well-known to be a bully, but no one mentioned that before we signed up to plan the event...
Two pretty awful experiences. Will never work with or recommend them again.

The man who came out was very friendly, personable, and straighforward. The entire process was very simple.

Their work is excellent. They keep you informed as to when they can come and do the work. They show up promptly, do the work as quickly as possible, and clean up when they are done. We have had no issues with any of the work they have done for us. They have been our electrician of choice for the past several years.

Let me just say Mike is my electrician for life now. He came over, took a careful look at everything and advised me what needed to be done - from what needed to be attended to immediately to what should be done but could wait. We came up with a plan and a price. At any time during the work if something unexpected was uncovered, and in that mess of wires and fuse boxes you can bet we found some interesting things, he advised if the price would be more and by how much. His guys showed up on time, did the work as planned, were courteous, competent, well organized and cleaned up after themselves. I am so pleased to have found Gilmore Electric! I got terrific value for my money and great peace of mind because I watched the work and saw how conscientious and competent they were.
