"PatchMaster's skilled technician repaired and completed a basement room drywall project in my home. They finished the work another drywall company left behind. PatchMaster added value to my home and they come highly recommended by me."

"Seth spent the day here fixing wood rot on my door frames, installing weatherstripping, and repairing a hole in the wall. He responded to my request quickly, scheduled me promptly, and did a fantastic job. It gives me peace of mind knowing that I now have a highly capable and competent handyman to call on as these jobs come up. Thanks, Seth."

"We can't say enough good things about Dwight & his crew. From his prompt response to our bid request and throughout the project they were professional, on time and thorough. They did a complete renovation of our walls & woodwork & replaced popcorn ceilings with knockdown finish. All of the floors & furniture were totally covered and protected prior to starting and they vacuumed and mopped upon completion. Dwight went the extra mile to make sure everything was right and it looks great. Would definitely recommend them."

"The did a new install in part of the basement and a repair in another part, MUCH better job than the first person we hired! Did exactly what they said and then some. Would strongly recommend them! Both Rod and Jill were super easy to deal with. Don't hesitate to hire them!"

"I cannot say enough about what a pleasure it was doing business with Lapuc. Caesar is one of the nicest gentleman I have had the opportunity to hire. He was here on time, communicated exceptionally, the price was very fair, and the work was done perfectly. Although I hired Caesar for drywall repair, his company will be my goto for any home renovation and/or repairs. Thank you very much Caesar for your help and support. It went well beyond what you charged me for. Look forward to hiring you again. My neighborhood friends will likely be calling...."

"I’m very happy with the new retaining wall Four Seasons Landscaping built to replace our old wall that had collapsed. They communicated clearly throughout the project, always showed up on time, and worked hard to ensure everything was done right. Their attention to detail and work ethic really stood out. I would definitely hire them again!"

Wall Repair questions, answered by experts

Failure to compact the soil during construction is the most common cause of leaning retaining walls. In addition, poor drainage can lead to excessive water pressure behind a retaining wall, pushing against it until it begins to move forward away from the soil it is holding back.

Most railroad tie retaining walls have a life span of 20 to 30 years, though you may need to replace your wall sooner if it’s repeatedly exposed to heavy rain, runoff, and excess moisture. Railroad ties are typically treated with creosote, which makes them much more durable than untreated wood. Though they last longer, they don’t last forever. For the most longevity, make sure your retaining wall has a sturdy base and steel reinforcements. You should also install drainage to direct water away from the wall.

DIY is possible for small projects. Professional installation ensures structural integrity and durability for larger walls.

Options include concrete, stone, brick, and wood, tailored for specific design needs.

Generally speaking, a retaining wall should be between 3 and 4 feet high, depending on variables such as the wall-building material, the purpose of the retaining wall, and more. If you want your retaining wall to be taller than 4 feet, check with your local building ordinance office for the maximum allotment. You may also need a special permit for retaining walls over 4 feet tall.
