"I am so thankful I found KC Metro Plumbing. Water started to appear in front of my toilet. I called KC Metro Plumbing in the evening. LJ was out the next day to ***** the problem. He discovered the toilet was not level due to the rotten sub floor. When he removed the rotten sub floor, he discover the copper pipe the toilet was hooked into was bad. He replaced the sub floor under the toilet and this major pipe. LJ took the time to show me the bad pipe and floor before he replaced them explaining how much of the pipe he was removing, and how he was going to place the sub floor into the floor joist. LJ made me feel very comfortable through this whole process. He did it all in 1 appointment. I would recommend KC Metro Plumbing to all my family and friends."

"The sink had very thick and longtime build-up that was mostly clogging a big section of pipe and not able to be opened with a "snake". Several feet of pipe had to be removed and replaced. Once the occluded piece was removed, Kyle showed me the ends of the pipe after it was removed and why just trying to shift the caked in debris wouldn't work in this case. I appreciated him showing me (including some photos, as I have a crawl space) along with explaining so I had a better understanding. He was considerate in explanations of the work, wearing a mask, punctuality and in cleaning up after."

"Zack McMahan, a plumber with Mac Wilson Plumbing, installed a French drain along a portion our west basement wall. Zack was willing to work with us to problem-solve and come up with unique solutions what worked for our property. He presented us with choices about what we could do, and reasonable prices for different services. Zack was polite, hard-working, conscientious, and dedicated to giving us the results we hoped for. We always felt we were in capable, honest hands, and will use this company again if the need arises."

"I really had a problem with the drainage in my front yard from the sump pump and the drain that was buried to deep and the water wouldn't drain and just ran back into the sump pump causing it to run all the time. Nick and his crew installed a new drain and reconnected the sump pump drain into it and everything is fine now. His price was reasonable and fair. They did a great job replacing the sow in the front yard and it look great."

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

Bleach is generally not recommended for your shower drains. Although diluted bleach can technically help clean your drain, it will not unclog your pipes. In fact, bleach can harm your plumbing system because it’s so powerful. The bleach can change the color of your sink and even corrode metal pipes and fittings.

Often, people reach for bleach because it's already in their house. But it's worth getting a plunger or a drain snake for the job instead. It'll be a lot less money to buy a new plunger than to pay a plumber to repair or replace damaged pipes.

Keep your egress window from flooding by ensuring that the drainage system in the window well is clear and in good working condition. Inspect the window well every few months to remove any blockages and test the drainage system. It’s better to discover potential problems before your window well fills with water during heavy rain.

While some chemical drain cleaners with hydrochloric acid can dissolve hair, this method is not recommended as it can also destroy your plumbing pipes. A common DIY alternative is using baking soda and vinegar, which can help break down the clog but will not actually dissolve the hair. The best and safest method for clearing a hair clog is to remove it manually. You can use a drain snake, a straightened wire hanger with pliers to fish out the clog, or have a plumber use a professional auger for more severe blockages.

It’ll take 20 to 30 minutes to unclog a sewer line using a drain snake or drain cleaner. If you hire a professional, you should expect them to be on-site for three hours or less. In addition to clearing the clog, they’ll do other routine inspections, which adds to the overall time (and cost) required.

You can unclog a double kitchen sink by plunging the side with the garbage disposal. Cover the drain hole on the other side first to avoid creating a mess. Plunge up and down until the water starts to drain. You can also pour in baking soda and vinegar to try and dissolve a clog.
