"Terrific is an understatement! After being told by my HVAC company that they could not install a new hot water heater for 3 days, TJ at Metro Plumbing went above and beyond to make sure we had hot water before guests arrived the following day. He tracked down the unit we wanted, came to the house on a Saturday and he and his associate worked in tight quarters to the get the unit installed. It is no wonder he has been in business for 15 years! If you want a job done well at a fair price, I highly recommend KC Metro Plumbing! Thank you, TJ!"

"Very smoothly. He confirmed my suspicions that the garbage disposal had quit working and was now clogging the drain. He was up-front about the costs and, although it seemed a little high, his work was efficient and he left the area clean and neat. He was even professional about social distancing in this age of pandemics."

"Corum Plumbing Heating & Cooling in Lee's Summit, MO, is known for reliable 24/7 service and expert plumbing repairs. Aaron Houseman, the technician who handled my Saturday emergency, was professional and knowledgeable. He arrived promptly, quickly diagnosed the leak under my bathroom cabinet, replaced both water valves and supply lines, and installed a new faucet I had purchased. He explained every step and provided a clear quote before beginning work. The job was completed efficiently and expertly, and the new faucet looks and functions perfectly. Aaron made sure everything worked correctly before leaving, which gave me complete peace of mind. I highly recommend Aaron Houseman and Corum Plumbing for their courtesy, expertise, and thorough work. The company truly stands out for dependable emergency response and pride in craftsmanship. Fantastic service from start to finish—stress-free and trustworthy. I would definitely use them again."

"I really had a problem with the drainage in my front yard from the sump pump and the drain that was buried to deep and the water wouldn't drain and just ran back into the sump pump causing it to run all the time. Nick and his crew installed a new drain and reconnected the sump pump drain into it and everything is fine now. His price was reasonable and fair. They did a great job replacing the sow in the front yard and it look great."

Storm Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

You can determine what size storm door you need by measuring for the storm door. Take the width at the top, middle, and bottom of either your front door or an existing storm door, then measure the height on the left, center, and right of the door. Buy a storm door that matches your measurements' smallest width and shortest height.

Most homeowners can expect to pay between $186 and $680, with the cost of installing storm doors averaging $432, including both materials and installation. Labor costs range from $75 to $400, depending on the complexity of the job; however, paying for a professional helps save you time and ensures proper installation. If you go the DIY route, you could spend anywhere from $250 to $1,000 for just the labor kit, which includes the door and hardware. You’ll also need to budget for tools, like a power drill and level, if you don’t already have them.

To maintain a storm door's functionality and appearance, you should regularly clean the glass and frames, lubricate the hinges and other moving parts, and inspect the seals for any signs of wear.

No, a storm door should not replace a regular door. It lacks the durability, insulation, and security of a proper exterior door. Most storm doors have lightweight frames and minimal locking hardware, and they aren’t meant to stand alone. While they work well as a backup to your main entry door, relying on one as your only barrier would likely lead to drafts, higher energy bills, and safety concerns.

The extra insulation helps reduce energy costs by minimizing drafts and temperature exchange between indoors and outdoors.
