"This guy is phenomenal. My son’s front door was water damaged & rotting. Aaron explained to fix the problem the door frame needed replacement. His price was completely reasonable considering the scope of the job. The door also had an exterior weather door that caused an unexpected issue when re-installing. Aaron did amazing work to fabricate a perfect solution. He was prompt, friendly & completely trustworthy throughout all encounters. I recommend him without reservation and would give him 7 stars if that were an option."

Deck Repair questions, answered by experts

There are several methods for attaching stair stringers to a deck. The best way is to bolt the stringers to the deck joists using three carriage bolts in a triangular pattern. This method offers the sturdiest fit for stairs that won’t budge. Alternatively, attach the stringers to the deck rims using lag bolts or to the posts using adjustable slope hangers.

No, termites do not eat Trex or any other composite decking brand. Termites eat cellulose, of which composite decking like Trex contains very little compared to natural wood. This feature can help justify the higher Trex decking costs if you live in an area with abundant termites.

Choices include wood, composite, and hardwoods, each with unique benefits.

Both composite and PVC decking are excellent alternatives to wood. However, while composite is moderately priced and lasts around 30 years, PVC costs more and lasts longer. PVC is also more durable, though both materials are more durable than wood decking. Ultimately, the choice between composite and PVC decking will come down to your budget and preferences.

Yes, deck footings typically require an inspection before laying down concrete. While not all local building codes require footing inspection, proper placement ensures a safe and structurally sound deck. An inspector will verify that the deck can adequately hold what you put on top of it., and that the footings have been dug to the correct dimensions.
